Obama Administration’s Department of Homeland Security U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says that they will not do their jobs and process the illegal immigrants being sent to them from Arizona. What good are they if they will not do what they are there to do, which is to enforce our immigration laws.

If the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement knows that someone is here illegally, they should uphold our laws and process those illegal immigrants. That does not necessarily mean that they have to deport those people, but they should look into it and see if they are criminals or terrorist, or at least why there are here, how they got here illegally.

Unfortunately the terrorist friendly Obama Administration will not act on the problem unless it helps them in the polls, or is beneficial to the administration in one way or another.

A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.

John Morton, assistant secretary of homeland security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, made the comment during a meeting on Wednesday with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune, the newspaper reports.

“I don’t think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution,” Morton told the newspaper.

The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws.

The law, which criminalizes being in the state illegally and requires authorities to check suspects for immigration status, is not “good government,” Morton said.

In response to Morton’s comments, DHS officials said President Obama has ordered the Department of Justice to examine the civil rights and other implications of the law.

“That review will inform the government’s actions going forward,” DHS spokesman Matt Chandler told Fox News on Friday.

If that is the worse they do about the law it will be a travesty. They need to do far worse to Arizona for being racist to begin with. Arizona is violating this countries civil liberties laws.

They write a bill that says if one can identify an illegal on sight they need to detain them and expect people to not call them racist?

I'm against what Arizona is doing. Corruption and profiling WILL happen. We can walk down the street with no identification and Hispanics won't be able to do that. That is very wrong.

Imagine being in a restaurant and a Hispanic couple was sitting at the table next to you and police officers were eating there too. The police officers will be able to interrupt their meal and humiliate them and ask them for their identification. White people would never put up with that.

We do have a horrible problem with illegals - in the schools and hospitals too. It's costing us BIG money.

Clinton, both Bushes, and Obama won't touch this issue because they will lose Hispanic votes.

I would like to see Obama have the National Guard or even the Marines patrolling the border, 24/7. We need a longer fence too.

If they suspect that they are illegal, they can. It's called profiling. It exists now with black people and it will exist with the Hispanics.

They did attempt to change that part of the law.

What they did not change is if you are driving and your blinker is not working and you turn, the police can stop you and if you forgot your drivers license they can detain you indefinitely if they suspect you are an illegal alien on sight.

So it will result in profiling and harassment.

I get all the what ifs.

Last time I checked everyone was required to have operational lighting on their vehicles. Last time I checked your are required to carry a drivers license when operating a vehicle.

So... If you are driving a car in which the turn signal doesn't work and aren't carrying a drivers license is it the police that are to blame or is it the person driving the car?

That is all good except they cannot and will not detain you because they suspect you are illegal on sight and can hold you for as long as they want to.

They will detain you or me and anyone else until your identity has been established. If you are hispanic and a citizen your identity will be established as quickly as the rest of us. There is going to be no indefinite detention for someone that is a citizen.

Unless the administration has listed you as a terrorist then all bets are off..

You are pushing it here. They can detain you for failure to have ID but it is only a ticket and no detention. And noone gets detained indefinitely. And noone gets detained indefinitely for being suspected of being an illegal alien on site now at all. Because they cannot profile them on sight.

How can you tell if a person is illegal on sight without being racist?

They can detain you for up to 48 hours without filing charges.

If you have no identification and are stopped for a traffic violation you aren't going anywhere until they determine exactly who you are.

Arizona law states that is they suspect you are an illegal alien on sight they can detain you indefinitely.

So they use racism to suspect you are illegal and then they violate your civil rights to detain you indefinitely.
