My fella and I ride our bikes everywhere. Sometimes we take the long way just because. Once in awhile we're too tired to ride so we might cozy up in a corner seat on the train and read while we commute. We've saved a lot of money since we ditched the car. No insurance, no parking, no tickets. Not to mention how much nicer we're being to the Earth.

That might work well when you live in the City where there are trains and buses.

Some people live in wide open places and have to drive 30 miles to get to the grocery store.

I'm lucky, I live in a very small town and I can walk anywhere in ten minutes. But if I have two boxes of groceries I have to take a car or pull a wagon.

I lived in Colorado Springs for three years without car. I walked and rode the bus everywhere.

It is sort of a free feeling. No car licence, insurance, gas to buy. No car repairs.

I loved this same aspect of living in Europe a decade ...

Not driving and no car equals blissful freedom and great exercise!

Still, does take a community designed to facilitate - w/ full provision of brilliant commuting possibilities ...

Or, yes, living in a twee village!

"Just material things?"

Material things represent energy exchange. Would you prefer a homeless person?

Personally I find it ridiculous when a guy has a super expensive car and a not so great place to live. My rent is more than twice my car payment, I can't imagine paying more for my car than my home slaphead

Yes that is silly, I agree. This is where the car is just for show. If a guy has a nice car and a nice home, then he probably has two feet on the ground.

Or you can always do a background check. laugh

you needa a hot car, not so much of a nice house or good paying job.

I've seen guys living in dumbs or with their parents and still get the hot girls because they have a nice car.

what makes cars a huge turn on for girls?

Ahhh....the key word here is "girls".

I'm a woman and I don't care as long as the car is clean and doesn't have smoke pouring out of the mufflers.
