Just watched this the other day for the first time. This is the weirdest Scorcese movie ever.

That movie gave me nightmares

Robert De Niro was pretty terrifying. Not gonna lie. I just can't really think of a Scorcese flick that was directed anything like this was. I really liked it... it was just so different from everything else of his I've seen.
And Juliette Lewis always seems like she might murder everybody in every film she's in. Love that girl. |

Definitely a great remake. Though the original is still tops- you just can't beat Mitchum and Peck.
I love Juliette Lewis, her dad's cool too. And if you watch one of her earlier films- Meet The Hollowheads, you can see her real life brother Lightfield Lewis who plays her brother in the film. |

Yes, the original is also SO fantastic, and EVER sooooo racy for the day ... A must see!!!
He's (Mitchum) a straight up pedophile, rapist, murderous psychopath ... Love the pairing of Mitchum and Peck!!! Scorsese and De Niro didn't let Juliette Lewis rehearse her scenes w/ De Niro, so that De Niro could purely disarm her, just "take her" in her great state of naive youth ... ... Said that the scene where De Niro puts his thumb in her mouth was mind blowingly as raw as it looked, steamed up the entire crew ... ... Both, 2 of my ALLTIME favs! |

All I will say is that Juliette Lewis can murder me anytime.

Only a matter of time before they ruin it with a morbid remake.
Is nothing sacred?? |

I think "Last Temptation of Christ" is weirder. And more awesome.

Only a matter of time before they ruin it with a morbid remake. Is nothing sacred?? It's already a remake- so even the original 60's version wasn't sacred |

My favorite Scorsese films are Taxi Driver, The King of Comedy, and After Hours
|

Taxi Driver is in my top five favorite films of all time.
I just got handed a bunch of photos from me when I was younger. My ex's have stolen all my clothes and posters. I used to have Travis in black and white with the two guns facing forward on my wall. Still have two Taxi Driver shirts, though. Yay. The Last Temptation of Christ I didn't find weirder... but I definitely found it awesome. Willem Dafoe was so brilliant in that. Harvey Keitel was pretty great too. Killer Klowns From Outer Space rocks. Scorcese's version was a bit too serious for me. |

Killer Klowns From Outer Space rocks. Scorcese's version was a bit too serious for me. Tommy DeVito: You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little fvcked up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a killer klown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to fvckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny? |

I think "Last Temptation of Christ" is weirder. And more awesome. The impression it left on me is SO profound, it will never leave me! I really believe that it should be required viewing, prerequisite of every single High School graduation!!! |
