Conway Twitty......That is all!!!!!!!
IDK as much about the old time crooners - I did see Ernest Tubbs in concert just before he died (couple yrs B4), and Bill Monroe cuz - just cuz - saw Merle Haggard with Carlene Carter years ago, but Merle - great tho he was - it's not quite my style of hillbilly blues.

Maybe I'll have to give Conway another listen.......waving
I have met ernest Tubb twice, my dad played steel guitar briefly filling in on tour for him when I was way younger, Also met Wille before he bacame famous and mailny just wrote songs!!!

well I'm more a Blue Grass kinda gal:laughing:

what confused me is that most of what is discussed here is southern...so I think he refers to something more specific - maybe more of a southern rock flavor - like Skynard, Marshall Tucker???? IDK, really cuz I am more of a bluegrass and traditional country gal - even the traditional country I listen to leans more to rockabilly, country crossover, or blue grass (Dwight, Sugarland, Alison Krauss), than "southern Rock" Freebird anyone????

Perhaps our mysterious poster will explain himself

I am listening to one of my favorite Dixie Chicks songs, wihtout you. I really admire the chicks. I saw a documentary movie about their lives and what they went thru during their protest of the Iraq war. I was saddened that a person's opinion cannot be free and be held separate ly from their art.

I think I have all of their cds and there is not a bad cd or a bad song on all of those. Not sure of a favorite tho - maybe the long way around?
