Last night I was in a lively discussion with several women that many Mingle2 patrons are here for FRIENDSHIP and BLOGGING only.

I base this on the fact that Mingle2 has a global patronage and many members are actively posting and responding to posts.

Based upon the response to my post last night, it would seem that Mingle2 members have little time for actual dating.

So, I would like you, the Mingle2 patrons settle the issue:

How many of you have ACTUALLY DATED someone you met on this site? Be honest now.

How did that date/relationship work out, conclude, etc.?

First, let me point out that only a small fraction of Mingle2 members post in the forums.

That being said, many have had dates (even married) from here. I have had dates from here back when I was looking to date. Many meet from here as friends and to date.

I met someone and went on several dates with him.

I think you'll find that many others here have met and dated people in real life as well.

I have not met anyone from this site.

One of my exes was on here awhile back, during a time when we were together, but I knew her many years before either of us were on the site.

This is not to say I wouldn't date someone from here -- I certainly would, under the right circumstances. Just saying it hasn't happened yet.

Considering you are older than most of the ladies in that discussion, funny you should stoop to saying we are middle-aged. There is no need to get defensive.

I also don't understand how you gleaned from our discussion that you feel we over-estimate our looks. I know 2 of the ladies personally that engaged in the topic last night - and we are all very well grounded and realize looks are subjective to the admirer only.

You missed our point once again. We all said we have dated IN PERSON from this site. We reiterated that several times.

I've had two wonderful relationships from meeting someone on Mingle; both were over 4-6 months in length. I’ve also meet a few fun guys for dinner or drinks but I didn’t pursue them.

I don't use Mingle exclusively to meet guys for dating; it's only one way to socialize.

Many have gotten married or are in long, long term relationships. If you participated in the forums more you would know them off the top of your head. Many have relocated as well.

I met one person from here, since then kinda lost hope on mingle2.Yeah we had a good time and all just not alot else going on.

I did also, go out with someone from here.

Mine turned more sexual and the distance was just way too far.

mine turned out to be Married....his wife came to my door

I don't use mingle solely for dating either. I've made friends here and have been able to meet some of them in person .

Sounds to me like the OP has not had luck in the dating department here and because of that is assuming no one else has either.

Well, Melody, believe it or not, there is a whole world that exists outside of yourself. I wanted to know about the Mingle2 patrons' experiences.

I find it hard to believe that you dedicated bloggers (one can tell from your number of posts) have time to meet actual humans off of the computer.

I don't get what INSITE means? Either you meet people on this site and have face to face meetings or you don't.

I am not older than you. You make the claim that you can "hang with twenty something" year old women in the looks department. If that were true, you would probably have a man and no time for blogging.

Continuing to try and put people down for posting here in the forums more than you think they should is not going to help you at all. You're just making yourself sound whiny. That's definitely going to turn off many women.

yeah i gave up on this site i stop in to check on old freinds that i made on here awhile ago. I found out alot of people lie about things.... makes them look better or something but hey ill take the freinds thing anyday.

I am not trying to impress you or anyone else on this site. It just seems that there are many 40 something women who still think they are god's gift to men. I don't share that viiew.
