THR reported the upset at a GE board meeting directed at Immelt, the CEO of GE who is pushing for green power, and who has pushed other left-wing causes.

“The crowd was very upset with MSNBC because of its leftward tilt,” one attendee said. “Some former employees said they were embarrassed by it.”

In short, the crowd was concerned about the biased reporting. The fourth estate has an obligation to report the news straight. While it is impossible to do this perfectly, MSNBC gave up trying years ago.

Under Immelt’s leadership, MSNBC has become a major proponent of left, Barak Obama, and the Democrat party, and has hired several pieces of flotsam from the failed ‘Air America’ catastrophe. MSNBC’s ratings are in the tank relative to where they where several years ago — not that they where all that great back then.

Immelt says he has a hands-off policy with respect to his news operations. Yet CNBC, a network that has been criticizing the Obama administration for its socialization of the economy, was put under the hot lights by Immelt and Zuckerman …

The top suits and some of the on-air talent at CNBC were recently ordered to a top-secret meeting with General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt and NBC Universal President Jeff Zucker to discuss whether they’ve turned into the President Obama-bashing network, Page Six has learned.

Share holders at the meeting asked about this issue. It was denied that arm-twisting occurred, despite the comments of several sources at CNBC.

A source familiar with the powwow told us, “There was a long discussion about whether CNBC has become too conservative and is beating up on Obama too much. There’s great concern that CNBC is now the anti-Obama network.”

Attacking a Republican president without respite for years is not anti-Bush, but, giving Obama grief for a month is anti-Obama? This is not bias? The official party line at GE was that the meeting was a thank-you dinner. The response:

“That is complete bull[bleep] . . . they didn’t invite a lot of people to [the meeting]. There were many staffers who were working 24/7 during the crisis who weren’t asked to attend, even Santelli, who was a big star for the network during those weeks. Why not?”

The thing to watch for will be a sudden change in coverage. Obama does not have to deal with a press corp in the US, but a choir singing praises. The Obama administration has given billions to GE in the form of TARP allocations for the struggling GE Financial Services. While this can be innocent, it does warrant reporting and investigation. Cheney worked for Haliburton. That company did have government contracts. The situation was heavily reported upon and investigated.

Immelt took over when GE stock was worth over $60/share. The share price is now close to $6 per share. Immelt did not keep his promise to not cut stock dividends. The retiree’s really appreciate that. Immelt and MSNBC are pushing cap-and-trade and green power. This while GE is becoming the largest builder of wind turbines. Can you say conflict of interest? Where are CBS, and ABC? Where is the NYT? This is a great story. Why the silence?

GE’s financial interest exposed:

“One last point, MSNBC is owned by General Electric. GE is already making money off the issue with their Carbon Credit Master Card (link from “Treehugger”, no less). Here’s CNN’s story on the new credit card.
Interesting note: In the fourth quarter of 2008 as GE/NBC stock fell 30 percent, GE spent $4.26 million on lobbying — that’s $46,304 each day, including weekends, Thanksgiving and Christmas. In 2008, the company spent a grand total of $18.66 million on lobbying.” Reviewing their lobbying filings, GE’s specific lobbying issues included the “Climate Stewardship Act,” “Electric Utility Cap and Trade Act,” “Global Warming Reduction Act,” “Federal Government Greenhouse Gas Registry Act,” “Low Carbon Economy Act,” and “Lieberman-Warner Climate Security Act.” Do you think this “big business” is just concerned about the environment?”

MSNBC’s lies:

MSNBC is running a four-part series entitled Future Earth. On their website they say you can “find out why Earth’s climate machine — the North Pole — is melting alarmingly fast. Learn about our planet’s future, and how you can stop its decline.”
First, the North Pole is not “Earth’s Climate Machine”. There is far more heat and area in the Tropics than at the North Pole. Second, YOU can’t stop it’s decline (assuming it’s declining)! Nature is big – you personally are insignificant compared to nature. Don’t you wish you had the power to control icecaps!
[...]
The Antarctic icecap (which is much bigger than the Arctic icecap) has been growing. In Sept. 1979 (first year of satellite data) the Antarctic icecap was 18.4 million sq. km. In Sept. 2008, the Antarctic icecap was at 19.2 million sq. km. That’s a 30-year trend. By comparison, Michigan is 151,586 sq. km, so that’s an increase in icecover of over five times the area of Michigan.
MSNBC could instead be doing a story on the trend of cooling in Antarctica and possible falling sea levels due to ice accumulation in Antarctica. Keep in mind that if the Polar icecap (without Greenland) melted…it would hardly cause sea level to rise, because the icecap is currently displacing water in the Arctic Ocean.

Who pays for the weapons of destruction produced by GE?
What is the mark-up on those weapons? Greed?
Who benefits from pushing the race card? MSNBC?
If not liberal, why put money into a liberal broadcasting company?
Who stands to gain from cap and tax? GE?

GE supports whoever is in power with it's campaign contributions.

In the 2008 Presidential campaign GE gave $508,000 to Obama. $166,000 to Clinton.. $98,000 to McCain..

Based on these figures, Obama was their man..

Anyone that watches MSNBC knows they are the Fox News of the left wing, minus the viewership..

GE is a 'power pimp'. It doesn't make a difference that they're a 'defence' contractor or not - they're all powerless to change the mind of Little Jeffrey Immelt - he's the li'l lib who makes the decision as to the political orientation the company takes and the positions it supports. Everyone else is irrelevant. As for the 'green' ANYthing, but especially the 'energy' replacement scam, ALL of the 'green' technologies (wind, solar, geothermal, etc) combined make up only 4.7% of energy SUPPLY relative to energy DEMAND. The rest of it has to come (like it or not) from OIL. These 'green' technologies come nowhere close to matching the ENERGY DENSITY of petroleum. Might be fine to use for individual projects, but as far as replacing the petroleum infrastructure, ain't no way ... Next election cycle, look for Li'l Jeffrey to once again put his dollars with the Commucrat crowd ... he's every bit the control personality they are ... he's one of 'em.

surprise,, All the news stations dont report completely UNBIASED information and all of them SEEM to favor 'one' side of the story over the other

this is nothing exclusive to cnbc or msnbc

I agree though, that the coreelation between TARP allocations from the administration and the tone of reporting about the administration does deserve more coverage ,,,,its ABSOLUTELY as interesting as the correlation between the WAR and Haliburton's contracts was(and still is,, but all stories loose steam and get replaced eventually)
