From the urban dictionary a lemming is a member of a crowd with no originality or voice of his own. One who speaks or repeats only what he has been told

Do you follow the crowd and believe everything you hear or do you go against the grain (when needed) and need to see things for yourself?

What do you suppose makes people just follow blindly?

I need a combination of common sense, practical research, and experience or the experiences of those I trust

I wonder how much of it has to do with low self esteem and wanting to fit in, love of drama or chaos (or whatever) or laziness as newark suggests

bored and newark....go to your rooms laugh

is it really that hard to march to the beat of your own drummer or to stand up for what you believe, even if it is against the grain? Maybe I've done this for so long that it is natural to me.

Quote from one of my favorite movies (it's actually a song)

Look at these People
Amazing how sheeple
Show up for the slaughter

No one condemning
You lined up like lemmings
You lead to the water

Read about twenty-seven billion dating site profiles and you'll have a much deeper and fuller understanding of this phenomenon....!

Do you follow the crowd and believe everything you hear or do you go against the grain (when needed) and need to see things for yourself?

I tend to automatically doubt everything regardless. It's actually more of a reflex at this point.

Although I doubt if you'll get many responses along the lines of "Yes, I'm a lemming and I just blindly follow whatever the next person says," even though, if we were to do a worldwide survey on what people ACTUALLY do, probably 99.7% of them WOULD be lemmings. And would write bad profiles.

What do you suppose makes people just follow blindly?

Laziness, stupidity, apathy, etc. Give me a few minutes and I'll find a way to blame it on eHarmony, too.

I would fall at the opposite end of the scale from a lemming.

i blame fads and the media.

now a days if you start something new and no one famous has done it yet your really taking a risk and going out on a limb. most people that do this a met with resent and ill wishs.

to many people in the world are subjected to the attitudes and behavior of those around them.

i think its absurd.

i am a beautiful and one of a kind snowflake.

well thats just my tid bit. now i am off to free the yard gnomes of my neiborhood of there oppresion....

can't talk now the squirels are watching!!!
