When I began looking into the history of American progressives I came across some disturbing facts..

American progressives were at the forefront of the worldwide eugenics/sterilization movement.

This was nothing more than a way for the liberal elite to implement a racist policy of mass extermination/eradication of what they deemed as inferior species.

The American Eugenics Society was established in 1922. It was founded by Madison Grant, HH Laughlin, Irving Fischer, HF Osborn, and Henry Crampton.

Other notables in the progressive eugenics movement were Wickliffe Preston Draper and Dr. Clarence Campbell.

Draper, who founded the Pioneer Fund, is a foundation that claims to have played a significant role in research on heredity and human personality differences since its 1937 founding, particularly in intelligence. The liberals favorite watchdog, the southern poverty law center, has labeled the Pioneer Fund as a Hate Group.. I find that interesting..

In 1935 Draper and Campbell "traveled to Berlin to attend the International Congress for the Scientific Investigation of Population Problems. Presiding over the conference was Wilhelm Frick, the Reichminister of the Interior. (Frick was hanged in 1946 for his crimes against humanity.) At the conference, Draper's travel companion Dr. Clarence Campbell delivered an oration that concluded with the words: "The difference between the Jew and the Aryan is as unsurmountable [sic] as that between black and white. … Germany has set a pattern which other nations must follow. … To that great leader, Adolf Hitler!"

How many speeches did Prescott Bush deliver to the Nazi scientific community? I'll save that one for later..

On another thread I discussed HH Laughlin.. I find him to be most disturbing. He led the charge here and was complicit in establishing theories that were later used by the Nazis to implement laws that led to the murder of millions.

He was an avid racist. His theories of superiority and segregation were used in determining the necessity of the Johnson Reed Immigration act of 1924. A stain on American history..

He wrote the book entitled "Eugenical Sterilization in the United States". It was the basis for the forced sterilization laws passed in 30 US states.

That wasn't the half of his incredible career. In 1936 he was awarded an honorary degree by the Heidelberg University in Germany for his work on behalf of the "science of racial cleansing".

That is impressive..

One of his earliest fans was none other than Mary Williamson Averell. The mother of William Averell Harriman. Mr Harriman is often excluded by the liberals when they want to discuss Prescott Bush. The liberal line is Prescott Bush funded the Nazis. Well, interestingly enough, Mr Bush worked for Mr Harriman.

Here is a little fact that none of the liberals like discussing..

While Averell Harriman served as Senior Partner of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., Harriman Bank was the main Wall Street connection for German companies and the varied U.S. financial interests of Fritz Thyssen, who had been an early financial backer of the Nazi party until 1938, but who by 1939 had fled Germany and was bitterly denouncing Adolf Hitler. Business transactions for profit with Nazi Germany were not illegal when Hitler declared war on the US, but, six days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Trading With the Enemy Act after it had been made public that U.S. companies were doing business with the declared enemy of the United States. On October 20, 1942, the U.S. government ordered the seizure of Nazi German banking operations in New York City.[citation needed]

The Harriman business interests seized under the act in October and November 1942 included:

* Union Banking Corporation (UBC) (for Thyssen and Brown Brothers Harriman).
* Holland-American Trading Corporation (with Harriman)
* the Seamless Steel Equipment Corporation (with Harriman)
* Silesian-American Corporation (this company was partially owned by a German entity; during the war the Germans tried to take the full control of Silesian-American. In response to that, American government seized German owned minority shares in the company, leaving the U.S. partners to carry on the portion of the business in the United States.

You think that a man who was obviously doing business with the Nazis would have been arrested and thrown in jail or even shot. Oh No.. that wasn't the case at all..

"Mr Harriman served President Franklin D. Roosevelt as special envoy to Europe, and was present at the meeting between Winston Churchill and the US president at Placentia Bay in August 1941".

Having your business seized for funding the enemy and you get a job in the administration.. Pretty sweet..

Later Harriman was accused by the highest ranking KGB officer to ever defect as being a double agent working for the KGB. You would think that a man that did business with the Nazis, now accused by a KBG defector as being a spy, would have to be shot... Not Mr Harriman.. He continued on as JFK's Assistant Secretary of State for Far Eastern Affairs.

That's Vietnam, in case you were wondering.

He supported the assassination of President Diem in 1963.

And after a life of working for America's enemies, he won the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1969..

Does it get any better than this?

I could go on, but it's just more of the same.

The modern progressive still supports abortion, which has been cast as a woman's right to choose. When in reality, it's about giving the undesirables the means to self sterilize.. The modern progressive is still pushing population control as a means to protect the environment. Almost all of the people I listed in this post were enviro-whackos that pushed population control as the means to deal with environmental concerns. And so on and so forth..

So the next time a progressive pushes the "you are a racist, bigot, nazi" claim... just remember who's foundation of principles were built on racism, bigotry, junk science and complicity in the mass murders of tens of millions of people during the 20th century..

I know where all the old progressives went, they are now in the conservative/republican party.

Considering that our intelligence was less than it is now, they are more likely to be excused for their mistakes than the ignorants of today.

Someone who knows what hes talking about unlike many others who just worry about there own history

why 'worry 'about history at all,, instead ,, just 'learn' from experience, yours and those around you.

There is more than one way to take that saying though and more than ONE type of history.

I have a history, my family has a history. I can learn as much from it as I can from any other type of history. It isnt the details, its the lessons learned and those lessons can be learned throughout the histories of every culture, nation, or family.

nah,, just using basic logic.

Ever wonder how the french ever manaage without learning AMERICAN history, or the English manage without learning AFRICAN history,,,,its because the many histories of the world all overlap to teach the same lessons.

Having some form of a history and learning from it is all that is required to learn a lesson,, it isnt a constant that depends upon a SPECIFIC history just a way of adapting through knowledge of the trials and errors of people in general.

It is why I am quite certain that I could learn my personal ancestral history at home and benefit just as much as learning American history(or french, or german for that matter) in a classroom. Possibly even more so because it would be easier to relate to on a personal level.
