has been traded to the Washington Redskins. Guess this means the Eagles are going with Kevin Kolb and maybe some more playing time for Michael Vick. What do you think about the move? I think getting rid of a player like Donovan Mcnabb anyway you look at it was not a smart move. He is only 33 and has gotten better even with injuries and increasingly fast defenses.

I personally always thought he was over rated. Hes got a strong arm but no common sense and an ego the size of Texas...and he ain't won a damn thingdrinker drinker drinker

The only bad thing about the move is that he wasn't traded to Oakland where he could just fade into obscurity.

Now that he's in Washington, the slurpfest will continue.

I'm not really sure what to think of this. Very strange trading a player like that within a division. If I had to guess the Eagles made out on this deal. The Skins can't ever get anything right.

good points. Iv always been a to fan lmao, so when donovan choked and threw up on the field in the 4th quarter, refused to give the ball to to in the redzone I was dissappointed. Still, I think he is a top 5 qb in the game right now, he had an excellent regular season. The playoffs..... *high pitched voice* dont talk about playoffs..... u kiddin me hahahaha

I was kinda hoping the Browns were going to make a play for him before they signed Delhome. I think the asking price was a little high.

they could use a prove starting qb, delhomme is proven, but to say he has struggled lately would be an understatement.

The new GM with the Browns used to be on the Eagles staff so I am not sure what happened there. It makes the Skins better but it is very rare a trade like that to a Rival.

McNabb? lol I don't think he did much for the Eagles as a QB, especially this past season.....lol
Now Vick on the other hand... he's got some talent!

Hi, Cinderella
Vick was great with the Falcons as a highlight player, but he has not played one good season for a qb in the nfl. He was a great scrambler, now he is a good runner on his best day. With Kevin Kolb taking Mcnabb's spot, Vick will at least get a little more play time, maybe he still has some good games ahead, even a few great ones.

Nice legs but Mcnabb played really well for alot of years for the Eagles. Vick? He makes a nice backup.

Philly fans were ready to see him go. How many times can you get so close to the dance and never finish it? It's time to shake it up a bit!

I do agree with this. Kolb has done very well when given the chance. It should be fun to watch......

I would agree with this.

A change in scenery will probably help McNabb and sometimes, a player's value just seems to wear away for a franchise, if they can't get over a particular hump and win the SuperBowl. Not necessarily McNabb's fault. Just maybe the relationship had run its course and was time for a change.

I'm surprised it was to the Redskins, tho. Andy Reid must think he got a great deal and knows how to beat McNabb when facing him.

Only time will tell. Kolb is a big gamble. Reid is either going to look like a genius, or a complete idiot.

Vick is a nice part-time QB, when you need to run the Wildcat, here and there. But I wouldn't want him as my back-up, cuz that means he may have to fill in for a few games because of injury. Defenses will figure him out with one game-tape. He hit his ceiling about 4 years ago.

Short list of some dual threat qbs for comparison sake
Steve Young/A+ Tutored Mike Vick out of the draft, since they are both lefty scramblers
Donovan Mcnabb/B-
Mike Vick/F+.... the plus is for anytime he has made a play, including when he made those two Minnesota defenders he caused to run into one another, as he speed past for the go head 50yd+ touchdown scramble

At the beginnig of last season I posted where would Mcnabb be playing by the trade deadline well I missed that. As for Kolb he will sit the bench this season you can't have a quarterback like Vick sitting on the bench, too much play making ability there. Vick is short term future and Kolb is their long term future. The eagles just need a quaterback coach to come in and teach him to play the NFL game.
