There are those that can handle a family and a job. Then there are those that do not want the whole family thing with kids and all. To each their own.

But........I do not see that I was a slave within either aspect. I have enjoyed those moments with my kids and would do it all over again. The rewards in the end is a totally different type of satisfaction then one has per-say in a job.

There are many that do not have kids and very happy with life and where they are that is what life is about being where you want to be and happy with yourself.

But slave nooooooooooooooo one is a slave when your doing something that makes you smile at the end of the day to be where you are.....bigsmile

There is nothing more precious than children.

Some of us don't feel that way, and it makes it difficult when we're constantly lambasted by others simply because we believe differently.

I have had friends that did not have kids as well as those that do.

But I would never down them for their choices hell while I was home changing dirty diapers they were flying off to some nice Holiday in the Bahama's. noway laugh laugh laugh laugh

There is pluses to both choices it all depends on what makes one happy within.bigsmile

Here is a paradoxical question. I can't see being both myself. The whole "magical sacrifice of having children" is just a myth! It is another way of saying to a guy 'change shoved down your throat...'

I do not want to be a slave to a job and family.

I chose not to have children as I wanted a career in the military. I have no regrets about that and if had to do over would make the same decision. I know I wouldn't have made a great parent so chose not to go down that road. I think all being said and done we all have to do what makes us happy.

I fully agree with you. To me there is nothing more precious than having my freedom and the money to enjoy life. I have been called selfish because I didn't want children and I just laugh. There are many kids that go hungry or not dressed properly because the parents can't afford to care for them. Not to mention how many unwanted kids that are abandoned or living in the streets. Or how about the parents that abuse their kids as they just can't handle parenting? So, next time just tell these people where to go. Don't let them or society dictate to you what you should do. This is what freedom is all about.
