I meditate everyday....have for years now.

I'm happier
I'm detached from outcomes
I'm healthier
I'm peaceful during crisis
I'm optimistic
I sleep better
I experience unconditional love
My entire out look on life in general is positive

I dont know if its considered meditation. But I often perform a Wai khru Ram Muay. Its a form of dance that used to show respect to a trainer right before fights.

I enjoy it bery much. I feel really relaxed afterwards. But no other benefits that I can speak of.

for me, I do at least 3 times a week very early in the morning, outside and on top of a mountain. For me it`s the best cause no one`s there, no sounds but the wind and the birds and its very calming.Time literally passes by so quickly.

Every day morning and evening is best if ya can...I do evenings, helps me sleep. In the summer I go outside each morning. Really can be anyway you want it..no rules, that's why it's called the "practice" of meditation.

For about a year I was really into it. I had to give a really long speech my first year of college so I got to study a lot of the different histories and especially techniques... visualization and stuff like that.

I still have the notes.

It's all about what you want out of it... but it was a great help when I practiced.

"People who say they don't have the time to meditate need to meditate the most."

What do you do? Just clear your mind? Visualize your day? Just wondering how to do it. I'm curious too.

Just sit, breathe and be...

Start with just sitting still and counting your breath..if your mind wanders,(and it will) just go back to the count. It's challenging at first, it gets better.

That sounds easy enough. I thought there would be more to it. Thanks ladylid. I'll try it.

meditation isnt just about clearing you mind, but about attempting to get beyond the reflexive, "thinking" mind into a deeper state of relaxation or awareness

There is more to it...that's a good place to start. Then you'll figure out a way that works best for you. It really isn't as easy as it sounds, but worth the time to learn what is best for you.

You mean you are trying to stop thinking and see what happens?

yeah kinda..just start by counting your breath. When the mind strays let the thought pass, don't judge it..and go back to the count. There are many good guided meditations you can get on CD that can walk you through also..sometimes I still use them.

It doesn't have to be just sitting down and attempting to do or think of nothing. I meditate when I'm brushing the horse or even the cows. It's a soothing, repetitive motion, that allows me to focus in on what I'm doing peacefully, and relax that way.

I can also zone out and relax when I'm cleaning house.
