Topic: My rant for today... | |
---|---|
You would think that now that I am going to college, that there would be more social interaction with other folks, wrong. I know that I am older than the majority of other students and there is only about 1/4 of the population at my school that are non-traditional students. (Older than just out of high school students) And even in my 3rd term I still feel left out. I go to the art shows and other events that are at the school. I never have been the shy type that avoids talking to other people. Here is what gets me riled up. A lot of the youngens are getting together for study groups and helping eachother out. And I have tried several times to get a study group together of people in my classes, not only to study, but to get the heck out of the house, but so far no one has showed up. I even let them suggest the time and place. What do I have to do to get a study group together? I feel like I have cooties or something.

If they don't want u in a study group, then u don't really want to hang with them. Sounds like they are immature kids that feel all wierded out with an adult around. Screw em!

I know my own kids think at 43 I am ANCIENT. We had a conversation at dinner yesterday all about the rotary dial phones and no answering machines, no cell phones. My kids could NOT imagine how I survived!!!

No problem there, beer is yucky. And half of them wouldn't know what Wild Turkey is anyhow. |

That is kinda messed up, huh?
When I was that age, I loved to hang w/ older folks and learn from them. They made me feel safe too! Hang in there, someone worthwhile will manifest ... ... ... I looked at your profile to get your age ... ... I just love that 4th pic, the one of you! Your eyes are just magnetically shining on high beam, and your smile ever so captivating ... Full of life, that shot ... I think that one would be great as your default, for what it's worth ... |

When my Aunts got together, you couldn't keep me away from listening to what they were talking about. And hearing about Gram's parents and the growing up in the depression were increadible. Thanks for the encouragement. LOL, now I have to check out the 4th photo. LOL OH that one. LOL |

Was of such interest to live in Europe and hear them all talk about the World Wars ... Every single day ... If ya had toast ... "We had no jam during the war ..." If ya ate an egg ... "We had 2 eggs per month during the war, and had to make them last!" I love the olde timers as much as I do really young toddlers and babies ... ... 2 ends of the life spectrum, full of teaching ... |

I have seen some of your posts in the forums, what is your suggestion to help me get a study group together? (send me an e-mail and we'll dissect the problem) At $29.95 I would rather put it towards a nice purse. LOL Sheesh. What ever happened to someone giving their two cents worth. Now that I can afford. LOL |
