5 times a day for me ; )

You are Muslim? That is one religion I am not familiar with at all and would like to learn more about. Can you recommend any good books on the subject?

There are several avenues you can take. One is that you can wikipedia, Islam or the Qu'ran, and get a little background. Two, there are several websites that offer an introduction to Islam and what it is all about. Three, many churches offer an inter-faith exchange where both muslims and christians visit each other's place of worship to gain a better understanding of what their faith is, and to cast aside any prejudice or ignorance. And four, you could actually go attend a service at Mosque, and/or meet with an Imam, and learn about what Islam is. You will find that there are many commonalities in the Big 3, and that we are all worshipping the same God.

Thank you very much. Great suggestions. flowerforyou

And, MarkumX was kind enough to email me more suggestions. I appreciate both of your responses. flowerforyou

Well, yeah ...

The Moslems are the OT 'Ishmael tribe' ... Haggar's son that she conceived w/ Abraham, "The Father of as many tribes as there are stars".(OT Prophecy)

The Judaic Abraham's wife, Sarah, forced Abraham to send Haggar, her hand maiden that had birthed his first child/son for them, into the desert unto her own supposed Death Trail ...

They survived and went on to become the Moslem side.

The big 'OOPSIE' happened because after years of being unable to conceive, they decided Sarah must be barren.

Sarah had the bright idea for Abraham to work it w/ Haggar.

Then? She was out of her mind w/ jealousy once she gave Abraham a son.

That is the roots of where the whole conflict/war began ...

I remember back when I lived up in Akron. I used to walk up the street every Sunday night and sit on the steps of this Gospal church. The music and singing that came out of the front doors of this place was so incredible. They started to notice me and invited me in. I was the only white person out of 200 people. I enjoyed many sermons and so much music. They invited me in for no reason. They were just sharing some love. I'll never forget it. Taught me an important lesson. Just wanted to share.......smokin

Sooooo, agree ... all my fav churches have been Rockin' Gospel ones ...

You just get swept up and carried away into another dimension...

flowerforyou ... They call that bringing down the 'Annointing' ... flowerforyou

(The Annointing is God's Holy Spirit Oil poured over his people that they might 'hear/feel/know' Him... )

The Scriptures teach that God's word of teaching and prophecy must be waited on by channeling the Annointing in prayer and song!

  ... It works!!!

I find the Quaker Method of great interest as well ...

They come together and all sit in prayerful silence ...

... They speak only if they feel the unction of a word in season led of the Lord.

Many times, they just leave w/out ever having broken the silence of the prayer gathering.

Gentle ... Kind ... Fascinating ...

...As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way

O sisters let's go down,
Let's go down, come on down,
O sisters let's go down,
Down in the river to pray

As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way

O brothers let's go down,
Let's go down, come on down,
Come on brothers let's go down,
Down in the river to pray

As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way

O fathers let's go down,
Let's go down, come on down,
O fathers let's go down,
Down in the river to pray

As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way

O mothers let's go down,
come on down, don't you want to go down,
Come on mothers let's go down,
Down in the river to pray

As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way

O sinners let's go down,
Let's go down, come on down,
O sinners let's go down,
Down in the river to pray

As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown

Can't remember the name. It was in North Hill. Right up from downtown. That was quite a few years ago.

I go because I belive the Bible tells you to - I find when I don't go my week never starts out right. It sets my mond on something other than myself, work, paranting or the thousand other things that vie for my time and lets me have greater intimacy with God
