I work one-on-one in an Art class with a 7th grade downs syndrome girl. The latest project was making plaster masks and the art teacher asked me to make one too, so this is what I came up with...
<<<<<<< a venetian style mask! This is the first time I have made a mask...once I got going, so many other ideas came to mind. Has anybody else made them? |

Never have my step mom use to collect them had a whole wall full of different ones.....
 You did a good job on that one would have never known it was your first one to make

Yep. Made plenty both from plaster mache' and paper mache'. Quick and easy. Just make sure you put a little vaseline on the eyebrows so it doesn't catch as it begins to cure. Another cool little project along a similar tangent is to mache' over balloons for planets or the basic form for a head. once it dries, just insert a needle and pop the ballon.
