Topic: Justified??? | |

Attachment to a wrongfulness, and wanting to see the other harmed is being less, than the original perpetrator. Everything is in balance, EVERYTHING returns to it's basic order...so with an understanding of this, there is no need to want or wish harm on another. Justified....interesting word....how is revenge 'just'? that is the question.....is it ever justified. and if yes, then when. For me, and ONLY for me, and my value structures....wanting to harm another (revenge) is NOT just. Is gossip, slander etc being vengeful? passive/aggressive perhaps....however sometimes it is not gossip, but rather information sharing and cautionary informing. Someone kicks my can.... in a deceitful cowardly insidious way....I will warn others of their ill manners, and toxic nature. That's not gossip, it's fact, and isn't revenge....nor vengeful. |

I don't believe in karma....but I do believe that the act of revenge is self destructive. It's a form of holding onto anger and bitterness and that will give you an ulcer at the very least. But, I also believe it does spiritual and emotional damage in addition to physical damage.
People usually try to commit an act of revenge because they believe it will make them feel better....make their own pain go away or lessen. But, even if it does...it comes with too many side effects to be worth it. |

Is revenge sometimes justified? Keep in mind that this could be revenge by gossip, physical, whatever Revenge is always justified. Whether or not it's worth acting on is a completely different matter. |

Revenge is toxic, and pure wrong action ...
I'd be dead, now, had revenge been my answer to the many wrongs I've suffered at another's hands. Revenge is a reaction ... And reaction will lead to reaction and spiral downwards from there ... (Think of the film 'War of Roses' here, I can't even see it but the once!) Revenge is also driven by passion, and why waste one's precious passion on one that has injured you? Indifference is the path ... And? ... It might lead to the healthier 'response' vs, 'reaction' In MY lil world, I have long viewed 'The Golden Rule' principle as misinterpreted by most ... ... As sometimes we are dealt the circumstances to teach the other a lesson concerning their bad actions towards us or another ( No! NOT Revenge) ... If I'm in wrong action? I realize that it is 'just' that I learn this in whatever manner is dealt, The Golden Rule' in affirmative action posturing ... As if Karma clearing itself in this very moment! Think we often see the Golden Rule as if we are mandated/ordered to fluff the perpetrator's pillow and get them a drink, just before reading them a bedtime story! That is just as wrong an action as the original wrong. If wrong is rewarded, where is the lesson and evolvement, ever - for either? We owe each other being much more real than that! Response is healthy, Revenge is deadly ... |

Revenge is "lowering ones self"?????? or deprecieates ones own standing????? HAH! Apparently you gals ain't doing it right. Sign that special someone up on a half a dozen local gay dating sites. Pop two holes in a can of tuna and pour the juice down the windshield defrost vent. Add thier name and address to a charitable donations mailing list...they get 2-3 per day for decades. Is this petty?...yeah. Childish and spiteful?....Absolutely. Gratifying? ....You better believe it! But, sometimes Karma needs a helping hand for them to "get what they got coming" Sometimes the vengeance thing needs to be physical to fit the circumstance and I can tell you right now, that it is a really good feeling to watch someone literally scamper away to keep thier distance when they know that they have earned a whipping. NOW THATS FUNNY AS HELL! REVANGE IS A WOUNDERFUL THING!!!

My mother used to say"Every dog has his day" & I'm old enough now to fully grasp what she meant. The down side is that one is seldom there to witness the retribution.

In all seriousness......
I've had yet to get revenge on someone..... I may have thought about it, but never acted on it............. I never had to..... Anyone that has wronged me has ALWAYS payed for it in some way, shape, or, form...... Karma's a b!tch, and will always, without fail, bite you in the a$$! |

Hear~Hear ... Echo, Echo ... You speak for me once again, Sis ... Someone that trespasses me in an entirely outer space, off the hook, deeply injurious manner and proves they are that maliciously conniving, cunning, deceptive, cruel and selfish ... devoid of compassion or regret? Rates nothing less than the LOUDEST TOWNE CRIER ever to have existed ... ... More like the CNN endless loop alert! Edit ... And deep cleansing breaths of indifference ... |

When I was younger, met 2 women about my age. They started telling me how they 'changed the address of their roomate' so she wouldn't get her mail anymore. Their glee made me get away from them fast.
Reading the threads here, I see the reponses of people I would like to meet and those make a note to self...don't even respond if they contact me. Cranky b*tch am tonight. |

Ah, revenge, that bitter pill. Just remember as you take it, the awful stomach ache your going to have.
I had a buddy when I was younger that thought I "borrowed" his car. I didn't, but there was no telling him otherwise. So one night he came to my house and tipped my VW Bug over. My best friend convinced me to get my revenge on him, so we went to his house and flattened all his tires. He couldn't get to work the next day, and got fired. I still feel guilty over that ( not much, just a tickle), and that happened 20 yrs ago. |

No. Why waste time, energy and your dignity to get even with someone because they are being mean and ugly? Then, you are the same as they are. Not worth it, in my opinion.
