I have noticed from the time someone leaves a note for me til my email notifies me it is taking up to and more of eight hours. I know find myself just checking my Inbox rather than relying on the present system. Terrible.

Welcome to the forums, tnisplyr. I'll take a look at our notification emails. They should not be taking that long, to be sure.

I tested it a few times with different accounts, and the notification emails are being sent out promptly (all arrived within three minutes). My recommendation is that you check with your email provider or your ISP, tnisplyr.

I have had this happen to me a couple of times also.

How recent were those cases, motowndowntown? I'm not saying that the email server never sends out delayed emails (when we're sending out site-wide emails, for example, a delay is not uncommon), but we want to pinpoint any delays which are occurring right now.

I think the last time was about a week ago.

A friend and I had been going back and forth and I never got her last replies until I checked my mail the next day.

Thanks, guys. It's not happening now, so that is key. We'll try to monitor these emails more closely in the future, but there may be rare times when it's simply impossible to get them out immediately.

yesterday myself and another person were emailing a few times back n forth, and i noticed afterwards, that i never received any notification in my offsite email that i had new mail here.

i wondered about this, and thought maybe it was because we answered the emails promptly on-site,that it never made it offsite?

that make any sense?
thanks for your time,cheers Rob

Well it just happend to me again.

If I check my mail the new message shows but the mail headline on the top bar does not show new mail.

Rob, offsite email notifications should not be affected by the speed with which one replies to an email. I'm thinking that you should double check to make sure your personal email allows emails from our domain.

motowndowntown, I'm not sure that I understand what you are referring to anymore. It sounds like you may be experiencing a layout issue. Either that, or you are seeing a cached version of the page in question (in which case you'll want to empty cache and maybe reset Mingle2 cookies).

The top bar where it says, My Account, Mail, Search, Community.

If I have new mail the mail thing says 1 new.

Sometimes it does not do that even if I have new mail.

motowndowntown, it does sound like a case of your computer not grabbing the most recent version of that page. Again, my suggestion is to clean out your cache and reset your Mingle2 cookies.

DrRob, did you check to make sure that your personal email settings do not have our domain blacklisted? Notification emails are going out, so something between us and your mail box is preventing them from being delivered.

It doesn't happen all the time. Just now and then.

I don't know how to clean out my cache or reset my cookies.

Hi Motown, This may vary a bit from version to version of IE, but basically, click tools, click internet options. On the general tab, select delete cookies, delete browsing history. Most versions will ask "are you sure" select yes and click ok, you may also want to reboot. ( I am not sure this will fix the problem, but clearing cache should be routine maintenance) For the average user, probably every 90 days would suffice.

I use a program called ccleaner. It's free, and it only takes a couple of minutes. I wouldn't run without it, or a similar program.

I have to ask, what email provider are you guys using?

hi Mark n Charles,i went to my email n checked this is what i find

Safe/trusted domain and senders list.

no-reply@mingle2.com

and, when i came here just now,i find two new emails here, and no notifications in my email.

the last time i received a notification, was this.

You have mail‏
From: Mingle2 (no-reply@mingle2.com)
Sent: Sat 2/20/10 12:35 AM
To: **********@hotmail.com

also, due to yet another invasion of my pc by the dreaded trojan XP police,i am running a New computer, with practically no cookies caches etc.
still have same issue tho.

Thanks for the details, DrRob. The fact are that the emails are being sent out and you have the correct option checked. If you are allowing emails from mingle2.com, then I have no other suggestions.

It seems to be a "bounce back" issue. Like Charles, i really do not have any suggestions, other than contacting your email provider, and asking them why the mails are being bounced.

I do have one final, suggestion. Go to mail settings, and turn off notifications. Clear cache and cookies, reboot, and go back to mail settings, and enable notification.

If that doesn't work, you will need to contact support at your email provider.
