Topic: Whats up with this irish guy? F---- off! | |
---|---|
Hey all,
I met this irish guy online last year around december, we talked for a while and saw many things in common, he seemed to be the perfect man, he had plans on coming down here this spring break and promised a bunch of thing that didnt follow through. One day, he stopped talking to me without saying why so I guessed distance put him off but he could've said so. Anyways last thursday, almost three months of not talking to each other,he messaged me saying he was sorry but distance put him off, he now knew how much I meant to him, he was sure now he was in love with me, he wanted to start over, wanted a relationaship with me, marriage, kids, he wanted it all with me, he was willing to do whaterver it takes so we could be together. I know Im so naive but i really liked him, he portrayed himself as the perfect man, so I said why not? Only three days after he'd messaged me a couple of times, I instant messaged him and he chose not to talk to me and deactivated his account right away. How can someone change their mind so easily? if he wasnt sure why he messaged me in the first place?I know that we live WAYYY TOO far from each but he was the one to make the initial contact, I didnt even know Northern Ireland existed, why bother me if he wasnt sure? My opinion this guy was either pulling a prank or has mantal problems? What do you guys think? |

Well, for one...you used the internet as a basis of perfection. Two...Northern Ireland is just as it implies, North Ireland, which is made up of four countries. Three, you let him back in...me thinks he isn't the only one with mental issues, three months is an awfully long time to just say 'oh, alright, let us plan this again.'

May I say, it's his loss.... I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason. There's probably a much better guy out there for you. Hang in there! |

If you haven't yet met in person I wouldn't put much thought/emotion into it. You are a pretty girl, whether it's distance or something else, you don't even yet know if you'd still have the chemistry face to face. I thought before I had chemistry on here with a couple of people then I meet them and there's nothing there.

I fail to see the relevance of him being Irish and you getting your feelings hurt. Certainly not all Irish people are liars. As for the distance, he had a good point, it's hard enough trying to have a successful LDR when you both live in the same country, but when you put oceans between you, um, yeah that can be next to impossible. Personally, I'd never do it. I don't even talk to men from other countries, for several reasons, but one of them is I don't see the point of talking to someone I'll never see, let alone be with.
Being lied to or played or misled or whatever is bad, no matter who does it. But you can't trust everyone, and like others have said, this is the internet. It's easy to lie on here, I've done it, I'm sure lots of people have. Next time, don't trust so easily and don't let your feelings get involved. Best of luck to you in the future. |

God never closes one door without opening another, the problem is we focus so much on the closed door we never see the other open.
Keep your head up and move on. Somewhere out there is the perfect man for you. |
