Topic: Just a question~~~ | |
---|---|
I got my new pc last week, and my aunt sent me the antivirus she uses. The question is, it is TREND micro, I have never heard of it before, but Aunt Sandra is telling me it's so much better than Norton. Does anyone else use it, or ever hear of it???

Anything other than Norton is an improvement but I don't recommend Trend Micro. Also, it is a program you have to pay for every year.
Do yourself a favor and install Avast. It is a free program that doesn't slow down your computer and has a very good reputation. I work on computers for a living BTW |

If you want a really good paid antivirus then you should purchase NOD32 http://www.eset.com/products/nod32.php |

We use Trend Micro at where I work. I would also keep a copy of Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D in case something sneaks through. Also keep you windows updates and virus definitions current.....

ANYTHING is better than Norton, but Trend is not as good as others. The two best are Zone Alarm and now lately, McAfee. Be careful of some anti-virus programs as they can give false positives.

I'm not a fan of McAfee but use NOD32 at home and love it, it is fast and takes up very little resources, so while it runs in the background you can continue to use and computer does not slow down.
At work we use AVG and Avira - I prefer Avira but all it is, is a personal preference |

I'm not a fan of McAfee Ordinarily either am I, but this last year they redesigned their entire engine and the new one seems to work fairly well. |
