That was awful for your city Tim...we felt really helpless and knowing here in Des Moines...brought back bad memories for us. I think we got back sooner than you guys...FEMA wise....seems you guys are still struggling!!!! &^%# FEMA!!!!!!!!!!!! FEMA bought or fixed most of the homes here in Des Moines in 93. Some were just tore down. We didn't get that kind of help here in 2008. A large area by the Racoon River (that they didn't fix like the other areas cus it has lower income homes...but that is another story) flooded and the poor people couldn't get help or have anywhere to go. IT STILL ISN'T FIXED and the people are so worried about this spring. |

So far all the snow has melted as it hit the ground
 the kids all had off from school for nothing. They say we are not out of the woods yet. The winds have kicked up so now I am more worried about losing power.
