The Bible tells the story of Jesus Christ. All Christians if they are following Christ have that "want to" to tell others of Christ’s Salvation. If the spirit hasn’t reached you yet nothing will make sense until you read the word of God or someone tells you of his Salvation. Christ does save souls and I will put a couple of verses here for you. I encourage the Reading of the whole Bible.

JOHN 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

ROMANS 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you believe and ask for forgiveness he will forgive you. If you just repeat the words and don’t mean what you’re asking it doesn’t mean anything.

The words I give are a guideline. Declare to God that you are repenting of your sins and ask Jesus Christ for your salvation you will be saved.

“God I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving
of punishment. Jesus Christ took the punishment that I
deserve, so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven.
With your help, I place my trust in you for salvation,
and I ask that you will forgive me of my sins. I thank you
for your wonderful grace and forgiveness."

Jesus Christ died and was buried and rose from the grave three days later conquering hell as a sacrifice for our sins. After you
have been saved tell someone you will want to, then find a good Christian church.

No one has said that unbelievers are not welcomed here.
Nor has it been implied.

The Gospel message goes out to all who will receive it.

Respectfully, I take this forum to be essentially a fellowship of believers...

... an alternative to the forums of religious debate, disbelief, and mediocrity.

All who wish to know "the reason for our hope" are more than welcomed.

I agree, Straightmike...RELIGION DOES that for sure.

But you know what, Straightmike?

RELATIONSHIP with God DOESN'T do that !!!

And RELATIONSHIP is what God REALLY wants with us...NOT a bunch

of Religion !!!

RELATIONSHIP is what God wants with us, because THAT is what

brings us back into FELLOWSHIP with God.

RELATIONSHIP back with God , is what Christianity is REALLY

about.....and NOT about Religion at all !!!flowerforyou

THIS POST WAS INTENDED FOR THE O.P. OF THIS THREAD!

Nicely put, ddrgkd.

I very much believe, that you cant very well call yourself a Christian, and not know the bible.

I am a baby Christian, and on my first journey, through the bible, and I do believe that it is ALL important.

I have a thread called "Reading and understanding the Bible" here, and whenever I come across something that seems to be wrong, or unimportant, I immediately post about it, and let more seasoned Christians like "Morning Song" explain why it is right, or important, in my growing relationship with God.

God Bless:angel:

I am reading the bible, for the first time. And trust "Morning Song".

If you want a closer relationship with God, start with reading what Christians believe to be his word.

Then, if you still dont think its important, do whatever you choose.

The more I read the bible, the more I understand the importance of its word.

Be blessed!

Everybody should read the book of Job. It will make you thankful for everything you have and count your blessings every day. Well, that's what it did for me.

When times do get tough, I always think of Jobs life and what he lost. I don't ever want to go through 1% of that! I thank God every day for good healthy Kids and my health. I'm just thankful for everything.

HOLY SMOKES! Sorry you faced times like that. I was a party guy before my first son was born . I needed help fast to change my habbits and life really. So I picked up a bible at a goodwill store. The first book I read was Job. I haven't touched a drug sense.
Are you fine now? How did you take it when you was told you was going to die?

Well first let me say that I survived a 30 year addiction to meth. I smoked it. Then I was in a fatal car accident, where I was actually pronounced dead at the scene, and amazingly, came back to life. Then I got Stage 3 progressed Her2 type(an extremely aggressive cancer), that had progressed into my lymphotic system, along with a HUGE tumor in my right breast. THey gave me a 50/50 chance to live, a coin flip. I told them that, "I would die when I was damn good and ready to die, and I wasent ready", and began to fight tooth and nail. 1 full year of chemo, a mastectomy, and 6 weeks of daily radiation, plus the removal of all of the lypth nodes on my right side, arm included,(they were all infected with cancer) and I am 3 years in remission. I do believe God played a HUGE roll in that, by not only giving me the strength to fight, but in having faith, that he would not forsake me, knowing I have much more to do. I was only clean from my drug addiction less than a year, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, so I wasent about to give up the time I had left drug free, to cancer. NO WAY!

Thats the tip of the iceberg, you can read my profile for more details. I was also born 3 months immature, and not expected to live, and had a severe asthma attack at 2 years old, and almost died then.

So yeah, I feel like im on borrowed time now.

And all I can do, is just to pay it back, as much as I can.

I counsel many people through drug addictions and cancer, as a friend, (I am not certified, but I lived it, so thats enough).

So far, to my knowledge, I have helped several people to quit using drugs, and been a cheerleader for those fighting cancer, by asking them to use ME as an example that no matter what the doctors say, miracles happen all the time.

I am a living miracle.
