i receved a message from someone posing as a woman looking for a boyfriend here on mingle2 earyler this evening, after a long and weird chat i began to suspect it was a scamer, and when they told me it was 4:55 in a city where i know its 9:55 i realized id fallen for it again.
latly there seems to be more and more scamers on this site, in the first month after joining Plenty Of Sharks i receved more than one hundred messages from differnt people posing as women, who turned out to be scams. Id like to be able to bill someone for the time iv spent messaging people who turned out to be scamers. |

Report them. That is the only way we can catch them. This is one of the best sites to get rid of scammers. Every where has them, they are like roaches....but The admins here work VERY hard to get rid of them

Sorry that's happened to you.. I'd like to think it's rare.. I've not met any scammers on here... Maybe spend more time in the forums, I think there are fewer in the forums..

I got an email from someone claiming to be a woman, I thought it was funny, women never mail me, thank god. She didn't ask for money, she just mentioned god and love for some reason. Needless to say I deleted it. She scared me......

Im sure the mods would check out any suspected scamers and delete them.
but it wont stop them. some are easy to spot, some seem to be an automated system that gives the same response to anything you type, those are obvious right away. but some are really good, several now have really gotten to me. |

You can usually tell if someone is a scammer.. The rest of us aren't getting any so maybe think about who you're contacting or how you're responding when you're contacted and maybe change it up a bit...
We can only offer advice, if you think you've lost to them then you've already lost... The mods do not scope out every profile, they rely on members to let them know if something isn't right... You should report the scammers so that they can be dealt with... |

She deactivated when I looked at the profile later to see b/c I was thinking a scammer and was going to report it... |

Weird....I just wondered why she mailed me. Her profile said looking for a man, I guess my default pic is manly?

Weird....I just wondered why she mailed me. Her profile said looking for a man, I guess my default pic is manly? Right and when she clicked on your profile to email she didn't notice "man for friendship" |

Right and when she clicked on your profile to email she didn't notice "man for friendship" Yeah, the men don't seem to notice that either. I wish we could make it in neon lights on here. |
