My cousin and I need ideas for a welcome home sign for my best friend he's coming home from Afghanistan in a week he has been my best and in most cases only friend for the last 7 years he's pretty much my world and we are tryin to come up with something absolutely AMAZING! so, any ideas to get us goin?

What you just said makes sense- he's your best friend and your world and all that. Just write that down on a sign, I'm sure he'll appreciate any welcome you give him. Glad he's coming home safe.

Have all of his friends and family write personal messages on his welcome home sign. Or if you're really inspired, get the whole community to sign it! Might be nice for him to feel appreciated for the sacrifices he made going over there.

This is an idea but not for a sign. I have used it a couple of times and it is always well received.

You have everyone who is close to him write him a letter saying how he has been important in their life and put it in a sealed envelope.

Then I bought a wooden box and put the letters in their and had a small brass nameplate engraved with his name. This way he is the only one to read the letter.

It is aomething that he can pull out when he is having those rough moments readjusting and it will remind him just how important he is.
