Kay Bailey

Agrees with you on Medina.

The Shamu guy does hair care products. I'm sure he couldn't be any worse, but I wasn't really impressed with his debating the other night.

I do like Debra Medina's idea to abolish all property taxes

it doesnt quite make sense that the state owns ALL property and we just lease it from them

Dad turned 65 this January and found out all of the taxes dropped off. Farm exempt had helped previously, but it's even better now.

Of course, idiot Bank of America couldn't have just told him that, so he spent the last week pissed off thinking they hadn't automatically paid everything this year, only to find out the age thing.

I've heard about that, when I took a gun control course. Basically any wildlife cop can walk on your property because Texas actually owns it?

I have issues with Perry and his Trans-Texas Corridor. If that by any chance ever goes through, then it will eminent domain our property. And we won't even get into another country (Spain) buying it, building it and owning it.

I figure that this is Texas and we have some class and dignity and can discuss the differences without being buttheads about it

I was just wondering about the candidates and what they might be able to accomplish

for instance I dont know much about the Trans Texas corridor thing

If it's not on I-35 it doesnt seem to exist for those in Austin or San Antonio so we dont get much recognition out here in West Texas

There was some discussion about it running on 35, but the push was/is to go around the east side of Dallas, down to 45, and down to just before Houston and connect in under San Antonio at 35 and run to the border. And eventually run to Kansas City, KS.

There were like 8 different recommended routes, total. It was supposed to be a 10-16 lane highway, 4 lane semi-way, 3 railroad tracks, 2 high speed and one freight and then a mega runway of power.

Something like that. And it was taking a ridiculously huge swath of land, like 3-5 acres wide.

And Spain was supposed to own and build it, and reap the profits from it.

It seems to be stalled out, so hopefully that'll be the last heard of it.
