I was expecting them to come out pushing walkers with little tennis balls on the feet

so just that they walked out on their own power was enough for me

What will you be doing when you are 65? I just thought it was cool. They didn't have a bunch of children running around with scarfs and chit....laugh

But did they have the obligatory " stage rush to get the best spot " by a bunch of middle teens who had absolutely no idea who The Who were??

Nothing quite as ludicrous as watching a bunch of 15-20 year olds " jamming " to a band they have never heard of.

You'd be surprised, the music I grew up with will last forever...people who were not even born when Dark Side of The Moon was recorded are now buying it...it's not like when I was a kid that I'd ever buy nor listen to Herb Albert...lol.

It's been a musical phenomenon in my lifetime, forever along side Bach and Beethoven will be the Beatles and others like the Who, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Stones...Clapton, SRV, Janis, Jimi, Zappa...oh yeah I feel like I was born at the right time.

Oh, I congratulate them bro. I am sure I will still be slinging my d**k around when I am using a walker. I guess it didn't help that I had just watched a documentary on "Tommy" and had spent a few hours watching them in thier prime.....come to think of it....tonight was the first time I had ever seen Roger Daltry with his shirt on.

All things considered....I still would have rather seen janet jackson's tit again.

You would rather see Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake? I find that hard to believe....laugh

I always kinda liked the way Daltry looked without his shirt..for a skinny little guy. Really dug his hair back in the 70's too..and those eyes...Oh my!!

I was on the ph. during the half time show. Ol' Pete was still hammering that guitar, but I thought he should have kept the bottom part of his shirt buttoned. I thought it was funny in a sad sort of way. The light show was great.......Then I thought maybe Clapton would be great....but wait he is in his 60's too........

I suspect the largest demographic watching the game are Boomers so they give us what we are familiar with.

laugh laugh laugh laugh
Well I think I'm the minority with not caring for the 1/2 time show... whoa

No, you're not. I kind of felt sorry for them. Roger's voice was not the same- I found it a little depressing. I actually turned the channel at some point.

Love the Rolling Stones but their performance was sad too. Aerosmith still rocks like they used to.

Pete always has his coat overlapping his guitar, the last time I saw them he had to have had a device on the coat because he used it to bang the strings...

Ya' know...I don't care what anybody has to say about The Who! Their history speaks for em'. The Who are...and always were great. I love Who's Next...and Meaty, Beaty, Big And Bouncy...Quadrophenia. Those guys were GIANTS!

It was sparkly and flashy.

I couldn't do it man......I made it to where I saw the countdown clock at 12:37 and thought........I can't do this.......kind of like watching a 60 year old stripper who was the bomb when she was 20.

So, I went and cranked up my Nexus playlist and jammed the f**k out to Zeromancer's "Need you like a drug" and played Lovechess. (bad @ss free download of Chess with Greek and Trojan Gods/goddess's....they screw when you take a piece)

Yes.. Aerosmith was far better, Prince was far better... That's all I remember as of now.. But I'm more talking about just not able to hit the notes so not doing their own songs justice... Saddens me...

You don't remember "the Boss" Bruce Springsteen last year? I'm no big fan of his by any means, but it was quite an entertaining performance. Tom Petty was pretty good too.

The Who are one of the five greatest bands of all time and the Quadraphenia tour show at Madison Square Garden was the best I've ever seen. However.... Daltrey has NO range any more and the best rhythm section in the history of rock and roll is dead. Moon and Entwhiste cannot be replaced. shades
