Your eyes were bright, like a shining star
You could see for miles, it didn't look that far
Heart like a sponge, soaking it up
Love was a drink, filling your cup
Being together is what you fashion
Bodies tangled, entwined with passion
It was love, there was no mistaken
You gave it up, it was all forsaken
Time passes, something you don't see
Your older now, where you want to be
Settled in, thoughts of the past
Smiling, it will always last
New beginnings on your mind
True love is so hard to find
It happens for a reason, is what you say
Turning the page on another day
