My doc said the brand I take is not classified as the same thing as the athletes were taking

I was concerned to cause I thought I'd sprout facial hair and muscles! haha

Mine is extremley high concentration of vitamins and minerals and high dosage of the B's which the doc said is what really helped my sluggish metabolism

Its a powder I put in my juice every morning!

I also take a powder calle Ruby red-a mix of fruit and veggies in powder form

Ya gotta eat alot of fruit and veggies!!!! They are mother natures vitamins!

I was thinking more along the lines of the vitamins you get in grocery stores.

I didn't believe in vitamins, till 12 years ago. Now I take them first thing EVERY morn. Read about nutrition & am amazed at what is happening in the world of food. "We are what we eat, JUNK in; junk out & low quality of life." Want some info, e-mail me.

The vitamins at the grocery store are crap. If you are going to take them, go to a health store and get the natural ones. I only take one vitamin myself as I make it a point to eat very heatlhy and exercise. I make sure I always have lots of veggies and fruit everyday and even drink spinach smoothies. One should never depend on vitamins alone to stay healthy.

I have to take vitamens every day

they are special renal vitamins for people with kidney disease

I have a dietician who consults with me once a week (translation: she bugs the crap out of me over the stuff I eat)

but she said natural vitamins are better. the one a day type stuff in the grocery store only absorbs something like 20% and you poop and pee the rest away

Depends on what vitamins you take and what you are taking them for...some are useless for the cause because of body mass and metabolism. Some are helpful, such as calcium tablets or vitamin C, then you get into muscle development, fat burning, some even help your vision.

Just depends, you'd have to talk to a dietician I would think.

if your ph is not alkaline, you are wasting your money, because your body won't absorb much of the vitamins unless you are alkaline. You can test your ph with ph paper from the health food store/pharmacy.

I have supplements which I never remember to take, so no idea if they help or not. I'm crap at remembering to take pills.

Not necc. so. Ck out "Mannatech's Phytomatrix"; one of a kind, all-natural, plant sourced minerals, hydroponically grown, food form that the body may recognize & effectively utlize.

I take supplements..I use antioxidants and a formula for women my age.

I am a huge proponent of vitamins and herbs.

When I was going through chemo, my regiment kept me strong and off many of the other synthetic meds I would have needed to keep my red blood cell count strong and to combat my severe anemia.

On a daily basis, my practice keeps me health and balanced. I take a total of 15 different vitamins and herbs a day ranging from Milk Thistle (liver/kidney health) to Aloe Vera, to Fish Oils, Vitamin E oils, to Maca Extract for full body continuum. You get the idea.

You can taylor what you need so there is no over-lap, over-use or unnecessary dosages. For example, if a person is not anemic, there is no reason to add iron suppliments. There is such thing as waste. winking

When I sign new personal training clients, I tout the use of suppliments when we evaluate their diet.

Say "Yes" to vitamins and herbs!
