The highway I take to work has been ranked 3rd worst commute in the country. Luckily, I don't have to go into the office often! What are your commutes like?

I-495 ranks third most congested

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know driving on the Beltway can be one of the most miserable experiences of the day, but how does it compare to other roadways around the country?

In a national study by The Daily Beast, Interstate 495 ranked as the third worst commute -- just behind Hollywood Freeway in L.A. and Lunalilo Freeway in Honolulu.

So what's the worst bottleneck on the whole 64-mile stretch? Exit 2-A on to the Wilson Bridge. According to data compiled by traffic-tracking firm INRIX, commuters spend 31 hours of congestion in that spot, moving at an average of 21.2 mph.

"It has a number of twists and turns, people speed on it and its got a lot of slow points, too. It's certainly not a freeway without its challenges," WTOP's Adam Tuss told The Daily Beast.

Traffic troubles seem to plague our entire region. Interstate 264 in Virginia Beach ranked in a 18th and the Baltimore Beltway ranked in 21st. Interstate 95 in Richmond also made the list, coming in at 75th .

The actual traffic on my route isn't bad. It's the hour & half drive to get to college one way that kinda annoys me. LoL

My commute is just around 60 miles each way. With traffic, it can take an hour and a half or more. Most of the time, two hours.

my commute normally rocks; I can take I95 or local streets and still be at work in less than 10 mins

Just ended an assignment with possibly the worst commute ever. Sadly, I was going the opposite way from the rush hour folks and it was still bad.

Vienna, Tysons Corners, Annandale. I have driven the beltway and to be on it during rush hour is like betting the devil and only hoping to win. Even on a Sunday not during rush hour is a huge headache.

My commute sucks too LOL. The traffic isn't always that bad, but there's lots of wrecks especially with the dense fog and rain recently, but it's the 45 minutes of driving in the DARK that kills me....just messes with my eyes a lot.

My commute is 30 minutes on some pretty scenic roads, I really dont mind it.
But on days when the paper plant is going full blown it produces a smell and makes my eyes burn when I pass thru. Not real fond of that part.

"DENVER - Traffic congestion in the U.S. has eased slightly during this recession, but many Denver drivers might still be frustrated.

According to a new study, Denver's traffic improved in the past year. According to the Texas Transportation Institute's 2009 Urban Mobility Report Denver has the 13th worst traffic in the country. But last year Denver was at 11th and in 2001 the city was in the top 10.

Denver's delays add up to an extra 45 hours of unnecessary time each driver spent in their car. That's a decrease of five hours over the past two years.

According to the study, Los Angeles has the worst congestion, once again, and Washington, D.C. came in second. "

I-25 and I-270 are the worst stretches in the city for commuting. After that would come I-225, and C-470.

hah. I used to live in Herndon, which is not really that far from Tysons Corner and would never drive there anytime near rush hour.

And that's on a good day. When it snows, you are better off avoiding the freeways altogether.

Yep, I was there when it snowed. Not much, but it was pretty messy.

When I wake up, I walk downstairs, and occasionally out to the garage. That's my commute. On rare occasions, I drive to an airport, get on a plane, and make up for it a little bit. My last flight was to ChristChurch, New Zealand.
