In my case, I was the one that left her. It took me all of a day to get a date and less than a month to find a girlfriend.

I'm in my 4 month and it doesn't hurt all the time, just most of the time. It sucks my friend. All the advice, all the 'get your ex' back bs is just that. Sort through it, accept what you want and understand you are writing the brokenheart manual for yourself. It takes awhile.

I don't hurt as much as I did 4 months ago. I still wake up grieving but I understand that is the nature of this beast. I'm not gonna tell you to 'get over it'. I'm gonna tell you to just keep busy and what I've done, it might work for you.

I started working out. I mean working out. I would walk for miles and I would do endless sets of pushups and situps. Just physical activity until I was too damn tired to care or feel. I took interest in my diet, vegetables and clam chowder. It was easier shopping.

Destroyed all that was her and made some rules. I would not chase her and I would not answer her calls. She had to come to me. I knew that was such a super long shot but it helped.

Music was also a great help. I listened to alot of 80's rock as those were 'my times' and very good memories. Talk to people, anybody, just talk and get to know someone. I've met so many people that have been where I was at the comfort was incredible.

Wow hard to put a time frame on it depends on you and the situation. I know it was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do and thats been awhile ago but there is life afterwards may not seem like it at first but there is in time.
