Topic: Anyone know anything about Big Springs or Midland? | |
---|---|
My boss just offered me a job out that way and while I don't like the idea of moving out there, it's better than being out of work! He says he'll get me hooked up with a free apartment and an easy job about like what I do now.

I live about an hour west of Midland
Big Spring I dont know a lot about but its kind hilly and has a bit of water (a big deal out here) the country is ugly. flat as far as you can see and dotted with hundreds of pumpjacks but Midland is the white collar half of Midland/Odessa (sort of like Dallas and Fort Worth) Midland has lots of nice restaurants. an opera and a symphony Its only a few hours from Midland to Big Bend National Park and that is well worth a few road trips to see EDIT: also Midland is only a couple hours from San Angelo (big art community there) and a couple hours to Lubbock (concerts, football games etc). and Midland is only a couple hours from Abilene too. Very centrally located for lots of entertainment stuff if you can just get past the plain uninspiring country side |

Maybe we'll have a chance to play some music together.

HEY!
good thought! Midland does have a pretty good local band/music scene too San Angelo is better and Lubbock is even better but Los Lonely Boys are from here. and Roy Orbison, and Tanya Tucker |
