Well, life can be seriously complicated. Sometimes things are not what they seem to be. Now this is for those bad people out there that actually were in reality doing good. An Anti-hero is the bad person who does the good thing like in Clint Eastwood movie Pale-Rider. Clint is the Anti-hero. He is not polite. He actually does some bad things including enslaving the town he was hired to protect, he walks out on them. But in the end he pulls off getting his justice (considering he was killed by the bandits he punished) and in the end recognizes the one man in the whole movie besides Clint with any Grapes between his legs, the midget.

So who you you revere in a dark way?

Me? Its a tough call...

Vlad the III of Wallcharia comes to mind. The man rose to power after his parents were killed and did indeed punish harshly but for justifiable reasons. The Boyars destroyed his nation. He made them rebuild it as slaves. One of his towns was going to surrender to the Ottomans, He slaughtered them all by impalement and actually scared the crap out of the commanding Ottoman General planning on invading his country. Needless to say the commanding General invading Wallcharia turned away. Vlad was shrewd but turning Catholic was part of his undoing. What he was not know for very well by non historically informed folks is that he also was known for his generosity towards those he called friends and guests were always shown hospitality second to none. He also was well educated and took a nation teetering on the brink of collapse and made them for his short reign a solvent and respectable nation in its day. Many of us think of him as Evil and Cruel but in Romania he is still revered as a hero and respected.

Then there is Calligula. Now he was a loose screw. He was perverted and deranged but his madness had a terrible method to it. He hated Rome's government and lived to punish them more than anything else. If anything he knew how to party but when it came to returning the government's own perversion and decadence and raw arrogance he spat in their eye and made the Roman Senate MISERABLE for years. The one strange thing about Calligula was he seemed to not really inflict upon commoners as much as he did slaves and leaders. His madness did grow over time and swallowed every thing around him until he was assassinated. He did however leave a legacy that was more akin to a permanent black eye of Roman arrogance and a reminder of how power can corrupt.

Your favorite Anti-hero can be fictional or real. Don't matter...

Test your yang if you are in the yin. If you are currently in the yin test your yang but stop messing around with the dots. No matter how much you stare at them one will always be black and the other white and flipping them over does not change their color. Spray paint might but please... Leave the yin yang alone for now!

Aw come on! Look at what someone did to the yin and yang! And they kept the dots!

Tony Montana is the classic and ultimate anti-hero

the standard format/formula of a tragedy is a hero who is perfect in every way. The epitome of good. and he makes one tragic mistake and that mistake leads to the downfall of his empire.

Scarface follows that formula BUT he is perfectly bad in every way and does one GOOD thing that brings about the downfall of his empire

the ultimate would prolly be Richard III

he could kill a guy and make him feel good about it and then marry his wife on the day of the funeral
