ah, not so fast:

-A 5.0 temblor in 1737, for example, knocked down chimneys in New York City and was felt from Boston to Philadelphia.

-A magnitude-5.5 quake in 1884 did similar damage in a wider region around New York.

-The most widely felt temblors in North America were a series of four that hit near New Madrid, Missouri from December 16, 1811 through February 7, 1812. They ranged from magnitude 7.6 to 8.2. The largest was felt from the East Coast to the Rocky Mountains and from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico. New Madrid also represents an intracontinental fault system.

-1886 - Charleston, South Carolina

* Felt All over East Coast, Killed Several Hundred.
* First Widely-known U.S. Earthquake

-and if not quakes, then hurricanes, tornadoes....etc...just get yourself prepared for a disaster...too many people put it off..

if you live in California...there are studies that indicate the San Andreas fault is stressed....which means a magnitude 7 or greater....

Historic Earthquakes

Near Denver, Colorado

Magnitude 6.6
Intensity VII

Largest Earthquake in Colorado

We're not really known for temblors here, so it seems unlikely we'll see one like this again. What some are concerned about is if Yellowstone blows, like some scientists are saying. Ash will spread over 600 miles, and will affect Denver and most of NE Colorado.

Yeah...I'm still not worried about it.

The most likely scenario for a disaster of epidemic meteorology in Denver would be a Goliath blizzard of 8 feet of snow, which would shut down the city for over a week or two. The economic fallout would be greater than the actual damage. Twice in the last 10 years, the airport and city have been shut down for 3 days due to extreme heavy snowfall. So I figure, 8 feet, probably about 10-14 days.

That's the problem...too many be people say "seems unlikely" but who would have thought....Katrina, Indian Ocean Tsunami, etc...disasters happen, better to be prepared...earthshiver dot (com)

So far today there have been 9 rumbles in Yellowstone National Park...
this is an everyday, all day long occurrence and they have increased each year. Since yellow stone's caldera is over 30 miles long and 8 miles wide... and is a "Super Volcano".... when she blows, she blows.
Those of us on this half of the country are history...and the rest of the country deals with the fall out.

I'm putting my focus into enjoying the now....

I dont think theres much preparing to do if a Sunami hits other than get the hell out of there as quick as you can. And the only way to know when its gonna hit is through technology in which we depend on others to relay to us.

Yellowstone has erupted something like 8 times in history. catastrophically

and it erupts everu 60,000 years or so

and the last eruption was 65,000 years ago

also measurements over the last ten years or so show that Yellowstone is rising in elevation at a rate of about a inch per year

a yellowstone eruption could be any day or any year
