Hey, I got scammed yesterday by this cute woman who was selling
magazines to score points for a fee trip somewheres. And I was like
"thats cool"

Anyway, she wanted cash for said magazines, so she rode with me to the
gas station where I got money out (she didn't follow me in tho).
Anyway, she got cash for one magazine,and a check for another. Then I
looked online and found it was a scam.

So I canceled my check, called the police (who can't do anything until
said magazines show up or lack of), the attorney general, canceled the
check at the bank, and I have to wait until Monday to close my account
and then reopen a new one.

So is there anything else I can do to minimize the damage?

Seriously, though, that's rough. It sounds like you did the right thing
canceling the check. I don't know what else you can do though.

If you had her name or the name of her phony organization you could
report her to the police.

Sorry to hear about that Cloudy. No idea on what to tell you to stop the
damage. Now Cloudy my question is Why in the world would you buy
magazines from someone at your door?

I'm more concerted about identity theft than anything tho.

It was 8:30 at night, and I was half asleep, I dunno why I did in the
first place either. But I do have the organization name, but the police
won't do a thing until the magazines are here, or the time they are
suppost to be here.

I think you've done all you can do...With a new account Allen she will
only have your old info...actually I would have set her up by opening my
new one and keeping the old one open with maybe 20.00 in it to see if
she took it!!!!!!!!!!

expensive, they did show up.
