BUt do you think we should make ppl take tests before we allow them to have children. We have to to drive a car...

Heres what happend to me the other day when i was working at the gym.

I had my daugher there, and a man asks me if that is my only child, i say yes, he in turn tells me QOUTE, i have three, welll actually four but i dont count that one..... My jaw hit the floor, he went on to say he is not involved with any of them... but what really kinda shocked me is he really had no qualms or remorse about saying it or being like that..

am i alone here or what...

You are not alone. Guys like that make us all look bad.

a problem with the test is that someone can be highly intelligent but that doesn't mean they would be good parents.

I do wonder sometimes about parents, though....like my neighbors

Sounds to me like he should get himself fixed,and so should some woman.And the sad thing is that some ppl that want them so badly they can't have them.

not a test for real, i just hear another one today... BF & GF awalys argueing so lets have a kid...since we have nearly broke up a dozen or so time since we been together the whole six months... wtf

I know you didn't mean an actual test. My point was that the smartest people, sometimes, wouldn't make good parents. so until the child is born, you never know what kind of parents they will be. Then it's too late

just as there were some that I thought should never reproduce, grew up when the child was born and are great parents now.

I think the OP meant psychological testing which do not just test intelligence.

@ OP - I agree. If I were queen of the world I'd temporarily sterilize everybody at birth and make each person undergo psych evaluations to assess their ability to love and care for another human being before they have the procedure reversed

I have heard much,much worse about an EX and THEY include their hostel minds to say the same hated cussed words about their own children...its arful and there are so many reasons they each feel the way they do...
But like you,,I find NEVER a reason to talk bad about ANY KIDS,,let alone one that I raised,,,,but ya see,,,THATS the main problem here and in their minds,,,SOME have been separated by or through a divorce that THE DAD,,,doesn't even KNOW his kids,,,and hasn't talked with them for MOST of their lives....so in HIS mind,,,
their ALL strangers that he pays money to????

Personally, as a single dad for three years once,,with me having custody for two years alone..
I wish ALL the states MADE THE DADS SEE THEIR KIDS,,,and NOT worry as much on getting the money FROM THEM,,,because,,,in MANY,,,THAT PROCESS,,,STARTS,,,them to reject their ex,,and their responsibilities to father their children...
thats my thoughts as to hearing THEM MEN yell and cuss about their ex's and child support issues,,on my CB in my truck,,everyday..

In theory it sounds great but that will never happen. The ACLU would be all over it.

Compatibility blood tests, IQ tests, personal skills tests, Psych evaluations, and parenting classes should be required before breeding. I feel sorry for the innocent children brought into the world by SOME idiots.

There are countless people who should not have children, pets or any living creatures.

I know someone who strongly advocates the idea that there should be chemical contraceptives in the drinking water.
