When the House passed its version of a sweeping overhaul of financial industry regulation last Friday, not a single House Republican voted for the bill.

And while House Democrats are facing their own political headwinds next year, they believe the vote may leave many Republicans vulnerable to attack following the starkest U.S. economic decline since the Great Depression.

Today, the House Democratic campaign operation is unveiling a radio ad targeting five of those Republicans: Reps. Dan Lungren and Mary Bono Mack of California, Lee Terry of Nebraska, Charlie Dent of Pennsylvania, and Joe Wilson of South Carolina. It will start airing Wednesday on drive time radio.

The argument? When it came to protecting average Americans from similar risks in the future, Republicans sided with the bankers on Wall Street.

“The big banks and financial institutions almost collapsed, putting our entire economy at risk. “Remember? “We all know we should never let this happen again. That’s why what our Congressman X did last week is so disturbing,” the ad states.

A DCCC aide said the radio ads kick off a “multi-pronged paid and grassroots” campaign to target Republicans on their financial regulatory reform vote.

A spokesman for the House Republicans’ campaign operation did not immediately return a request for comment.

HERE IS THE FULL SCRIPT:

October 2008, the last months of the Bush presidency.
The big banks and financial institutions almost collapsed, putting our entire economy at risk.

Remember?

We all know we should never let this happen again. That's why what our Congressman Joe Wilson did last week is so disturbing.

Congressman Wilson voted to let Wall Street continue the same risky practices that crippled retirement accounts and left taxpayers on the hook for $700 billion dollars.

And he voted to allow the big banks to pay high rolling executives unchecked compensation and bonuses.

Maybe the $55,000 dollars that financial special interests have given to Congressman Wilson mattered more to him than protecting taxpayers and consumers.

Doesn't that just make you mad?

Call Joe Wilson, tell him to stop standing up for the big banks and to start standing up for us.

House Republicans Huddle With Lobbyists to Kill Financial Reform Bill

http://www.rollcall.com/news/41311-1.html

In a call to arms, House Republican leaders met with more than 100 lobbyists at the Capitol Visitors Center on Tuesday afternoon to try to fight back against financial regulatory overhaul legislation.

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) kicked off the 4 p.m. meeting, along with Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and GOP Reps. Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), Scott Garrett (N.J.) and Jeb Hensarling (Texas).

“The message was [House Financial Services Chairman Barney] Frank and the Democratic majority are ruining America, ruining capitalism, and stand up for yourselves,” said a lobbyist who attended the meeting. “They said, ‘Look, you all oppose this bill, but only a few of you have come out publicly.’”

In addition to asking trade associations to get their members in Congressional districts to write letters opposing the legislation, Republicans asked for companies and trade associations to use their Democratic consultants to gather intelligence on where members of the Congressional Black Caucus and the Blue Dog Coalition are in supporting the legislation.

Furthermore it's truth!

The Republican Party isn't concerned with the Health and well being of Americans.
Their only concern is big business and Insurance lobbyists.

Lining their pockets while the rest of "The People" suffer the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

Anti-American?

I have no doubt!
