personally - I find that I am enjoying my 40's immensely, career is in full swing, I have achieved many (but not all) of my goals, I'm still in good health, have good friends - and the ability (and time) to enjoy the ride now....
besides, it's way easier going "down hill" than "up hill" if that makes any sense!!!... I wish you the best as you enter this next chapter in your life!!!  $.02
