Did you soak the beans the night before? Generally the beans take more time in a crock pot unless they are set over night in water..to soften them. Every time I did that, everything was done but the beans...
then I started the over night thing with them, then all was done at the same time.
How long have you been cooking them in the crock pot?

why not now? don't want them to cool down the beans, you'd also want them to cook just a bit...

I'm a guy, but I do have a feminine side, no I'm not gay, I just know the female psyche, don't get excited, I just know, world weary, that sort of thing, anyhow, I have S/C quite a few times, and adding canned stew tomatoes which are most likely cooked, at the end, should do fine whatever it is that you are cooking. Being that you are using ham, it wouldn't hurt to use a little mustard powder, mustard, or even pineapple juice. Maybe even a tbsp of either honey or brown sugar.

Yep, when you've been around as long as I, you just know. There's no rabbit they can pull out their hat that will surprise me, I've seen it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly. I have done it all, cook, clean, sew, knit, slow cook, craft work, gossipped, paint nails, do hair, chick flicks, romance novels, etc. all of it, so as masculine as I am, I am very in tune with women. Now if you know a girl that that does auto-body work, give me her number. laugh please.laugh

Rotel is great to put in the beans about the last 30 minutes of cooking gives it time for the flavor to get into the beans...
