Florida Gators head football coach Urban Meyer has stated that he is stepping down from the Gators. Speculation is he is going to focus on his health in family

This is now the third coach with a major announcement before the Nokia Sugar bowl between the Gators and Cincinnati. First Florida Defensive Coordinator Charlie strong named head coach at Louisville, head coach Brian Kelly from Cincinnati named Notre Dame's new head coach.

I know it's not the National Championship game but it's still #3 vs #5, 13-0 vs 12-1 maybe the players will show a little more enthusiasm what whoa

oooh man....i feel somewhat sorry for FL next season because all they're good players are leaving this year and now Meyer left?.

it'll take'em a few years (or longer, depending on who the new coach is)to get back to where they were

That is a real shame. Urban Meyer was one of the great coaches in College Football.

I honestly think he would have been an excellent NFL coach had he chosen to take that path.

He has changed his original plan and will still coach the gators after an unspecified leave of absence. He will also coach the Sugar Bowl then take some time off for his health and family.
