Christmas was my favorite time of year.I was cheif cook and bottle washer for two huge gatherings of family.Now I have very little other than grandkids .It is a very sad time of year for me as familyis very disfunctional now I know what you mean..family get-togethers.. the laughing, singing, cooking, kids running everywhere, bickering, no room to 'swing acat', all the hussel and bussle, hiding presents, decorating the house, the tree, the kids, putting antlers on the dog...where has it all gone? |

I'm a true romantic. I love holidays. I've had the chance to relax from the hectic pace I usually keep at work, visit with my daughter, parents, brother & family, grandmother, best girl friend & family, b/f and all his family. Going to NYC for a few days to enjoy the holiday atmosphere and take in the radio city christmas show, having my family for New's Years Day dinner after a nice relaxing New Year's Eve in front of the TV & woodstove. For me, life doesn't get better than this. I actually am not looking forward to going back to work after the New Year. I'm finally enjoying life again and it's wonderful. I do miss my friends here, however. Not much time to chat anymore, although I was thinking about all of you Christmas Day.

When the kids were young I tried to get Christmas off as often as I could, or work something other than daytime. My job was a 24/7/365 type. When the kids were grown and I had seniority that I didn't have to work, I would wait till the schedule was posted - then tell the person working Christmas day that I would work for him.
I never thought of Christmas as being over till after New Years day. Yep loved every minute of it. Sure there was a lot of busy stressful days but, hey, there was a whole year to plan for it. |

Yes I'm glad it is over :) nice all getting together but the stress, My son in law broke the tv when we were playing wii at the end of the night. And my old friend that came over had a nice time but had to tell me the things she didn't like in others behavior the next day. And I napped and went to bed early last night feel good now. Oh son in law already has the tv in getting fixed good he knew someone that knew someone :) it a nice flat screen was given to them for a wedding present by my X.

Dang I had to leave and go drive the tractor, had a rosey glow from the drinks..come back and find out it could be coffee!
