Topic: Another Conundrum! | |
---|---|
Under the provision, the federal government will permanently pick up the state's entire cost for an expansion of Medicaid, while paying the full tab for the other 49 states for only three years.
Nelson, who has strongly defended the provision, told reporters, "The governor said take care of it. I did." Asked whether the governor, Republican Dave Heineman, had said he didn't want the money, Nelson replied, "He hasn't said it to me." That underscored the potential political dilemma facing Republicans in Washington who oppose additional funding that governors of their own party may want. LMAO A divided and dying party. Full of contradictions! |

Does it make you feel bettter now that that news has come out????
Senator Nelson marketed his vote...plain and simple. That is corruption along the lines of Blagovich. So now Nelson blames a republican. |

as much as I don't like high taxes the idea of paying the bill for those dead beat states is decussing . I'm tired of paying for dead beats and free loaders . Who is the deadbeat states? Do they consider your state a deadbeat state? Are those who take tax breaks from the government considered deadbeats and freeloaders? Cause we pay for them and they cost us more than any public program. |

It's just another demonstration of only reading what you want to read, and then trying to fit into a Republican illusion. Or should I say disillusion. That underscored the potential political dilemma facing Republicans in Washington who oppose additional funding that governors of their own party may want. That seems to refer that more than one Republican Gov has asked for funding similar to what the Party condemns in their rhetoric of propaganda. |

Here is the text of Heineman's response to Nelson.
"Regarding the unfunded Medicaid mandate, Nebraskans expect a fair deal not a special deal. Governors all across America are troubled by this unfunded Medicaid mandate. If the U.S. Senate plans to address the unfunded mandates issue, all states must receive fair and equal treatment. Neither Nevada, Vermont, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Nebraska, nor any other state should receive a special Medicaid deal that is not available to other states. It is imperative that every state is treated fairly and equally or all special deals must be removed. How true it is.....yet the dems were willing to vote for this bill when Nebraskans and a few other states get special deals.....democrats have no integrity when it comes to getting their way Florida gets a special deal on medicare advantage that other states don't get. Once again, the dems are willing to overlook such. |

LMAO Well, too bad you are not up to date on your info.... GOV. DAVE HEINEMAN, R - NEB.: Well, we've already made it clear, Greta, we want all these special deals removed. In fact, this afternoon, our other United States senator, Senator Mike Johanns, introduced an amendment to strip all of the special interest deals from this bill, and the Democrats objected! Hope you are satisfied.....it's out there everywhere but I chose to give Fox news the credit just for you. That ain't no BLOG And the difference is that the dems have no integrity at all voting for a bill that has special deals for four states. IT IS WRONG. |

Not that it matters because the only reason it entered the negotiations was because Nelson ask for it on behalf of his Gov and the bill passed, but do you have a link! All that means is it can be removed when the House and Senate negotiate the final bill. |

That bill will only require a majority to pass. That's a win-win, because no one but Nelson wanted in the bill to begin with. He said it was at the request of his Republican Gov. Go figure. |

According to Nelson, he didn't ask for the deal, it was offered to him. You know what that means, it was a bribe. "This is the way Senate leadership chose to handle it. I never asked for 100 percent funding" Ben Nelson According to Nelson, he asked for an exemption from the medicaid expansion. |
