What's your advice and being able to get rid of those flabbing love handles quick? I'm getting muscular alright but my tummy is getting bigger and my love handles as well. Been a problem since I was younger. Fat only goes to the waist but never on the legs, arms or face. It's beginning to annoy me so any formula that worked for you, post it here!

a good balance of aerobic and anaerobic exercise works well, IMO. Also, avoid high glycemic index foods. http://www.glycemicindex.com/

That's how men gain weight. Typically it goes straight to the waist. That's why you see men with beer guts and not women (typically). My only advice is cardio, cardio, and more cardio.

unless you can change your genetics....your out of luck.

where body fat is stored is determined upon your genetic makeup.

When you gain muscle you will be able to lose the body flab thats hanging around...regardless of where its at.

The only true way to get rid of fat where you don't want it....lipo suction...sorry...

better start putting some money aside for a little surgery.....or keep workin out and be slim all over.

you can tone the muscles anywhere...but he is asking about losing weight in a particular spot. That is medically impossible.

no it isn't...working out and using weights for a particular area will change that area. Along with proper diet... I have and do, do it.

if you can weight lift at least 30min a day and play some sort of sport for cardio ( because running is boring) and avoid foods that you know you should not eat this goal is fairly easy 3 month tops if you stick with it, but most importantly this is not a plan, it is a life style, you will look like the way you live. i use to work as a fitness coach for bally so if you have a more specific goal in regards to body building feel free to message me and i'll be more than glad to help.

Yeah, I had the same problem over the summer, I stopped exercising and stuff and started gaining weight. All the fat built up to where my tummy is but not the arms, legs and face. Lots of situps totally did the trick and I nearly got rid of it now, been 2 months. Hope this info helps.

I definitely know about cardio cardio and cardio and also how boring it is. I might take Qiao's advice and re-engaged on a sport that I enjoy.

And no, I am not a fan of beers but I did drink more beer than I used to in the previous years. Is drinking hard drinks is the same as beer drinking?

I guess this is my punishment for learning to enjoy drinking.

Ok. This is crazy, I just researched in the internet months ago that crunching the belly isn't really going to slim it down as muscles would build up. But... it might be different for my body so I might have a go on the sit-ups. But sit-ups? Would that handle the side fat?

I don't know any effective and safe crunches for the love handles. If anyone could direct me to an effective exercise that work for them, let me know.

Much thanks! drinker drinks

You can only add muscle to a spot, cannot spot reduce!!! Unless you lipo. You have to lose fat all over to lose fat in one area. Spot reducing is like asking to empty out the deep end part of a swimming pool and leave the water in the shallow area.

Dude, but it's weird. I've been doing cardio and I acknowledge it reduces all over but I am just bothered by my belly still stuffed. So, if I continue doing cardio it feels like when I do it my muscles built fade away with it as well.

Ya don't work one spot...you work the entire body. Thus the entire body changes. I have done it..50 pound loss working with a trainer, and proper diet. Things changed on my body that I never thought were possible at my age and after kids. I never had an lipo..

its a sum total energy thing

if you burn more energy than you take in then they go away

if you take in more energy than you burn then they grow

Cardio with high endurance short intervals works best for overall loss.

Low endurance and long distance does not really help for loss of fat but its where you start

Combine with strength training and you have a good routine.

P90x ab routine...you can find it on youtube now so you don't have to spend the $120 for the set...

But you are right just doing sit-ups or side-bends isn't really going to slim down your belly..you will build muscle up under the fat...people think that in order to get a six-pack or have a really slim waist they need to work just that area...wrong...you need to build up your metabolism so you burn fat faster...the best way to do that? build muscle all over..especially in the larger muscle groups..like thighs..generally the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism so the faster you burn fat(all over) not just the belly...but that will come along with it. Now adding an ab routine as well you will build up your abs so when the fat does disappear they will be more prominent
