Stalkers are fun at first, the flattery is a real ego booster. Then it gets old real quick. Makes me wanna scream, but I haven't had a stalker in a coupla years. I guess having a picture posted with your girlfriend really works!

Very briefly. Obviously read what I would post in the forums and then send me mean and nasty messages. I ignored him until I got a couple of threats. And, then one with a date and a time. And, I realized he lived in California.
Not fun.

Do you ever get those? Personally, and professionally. In my personal life, divorce helped alot. Professionally, my work speaks for itself. Some are very nice but just don't get a hint? First, you're talking about the kind of person who is clinically mentally ill. And you expect to reason with insanity? Some are mean when you turn them down no matter how nicely you do it. Be glad you live in the same state O.J. did, in his pre-prison years. New laws will protect you because of that. The ones that will chase you every chance they get, not leave you breathing room no matter where you post or every time you come online? No response is the best response. Eventually... and sometimes that means a really long time, they get bored. One stalker started in June of 2005. I think it stopped about a year ago, with only a brief spattering on rare occasions, perhaps once a month or so since then. In the end, not feeding the fire, not responding, not acknowledging has always been the best answer, except in cases where threats exist. |
