Should Everyone Online be required to have a license?

This is a bit old school, but remember back when CB raidos were big?!
by law you were required to have a license. A registered handle.

Should that be the case with the Internet?

Only after they require a license for having children. And of course a mandatory test. Now that would be money well spent.bigsmile

Yeah and now they did away with that CB license, just another money grab by the Gov.

No License!

The internet is the fast lane of mis-information, manipulation, lies, porn, filth, and the greatest access to real information and communication ever.

That would be too easy to fix.

If it were enforced, it would stop the predators!
another thought, make ALL porn sites.. toll taxed. just like a real highway.
Make it so that everyone has to pay by credit card or pay pal before you can get into the site. and no more porn pop ups or adds allowed.. such sites should be closed down immediately.

Internet being unregulated is just dumb.

Nope. I'm paying for the service, so I shouldn't
have to pay govt/register to use it.

Of course, you don't have to have a license anymore. Know why?
A couple of reasons: First, so many people were buying in to
the craze and ignored the requirement of licensing, and
secondly, the FCC was inundated with so many applications,
they couldn't handle the overload.

(You are, however, bound by FCC regulations regarding the
equipment and its use).

You buy all of the fishing gear, but you are required to have a fishing license.

You cannot stop predators, since Cain Killed Abel there have been laws, regulations, prohibitions, sanctions, rules, prisons and executions. And guess what?
People still prey on each other.

In my county the cops know me. They usually stop me, mosey over from their cruiser, and say, "may I see your licence, sir." I answer, "f o officer." "What's that????" "That was my poetic licence. You did not specify which licence." "Driver's licence." "You mean, from the great cattle drive from Red River to Chicago?" "No, your state driver's licence that is issued to permit you to drive a car." "Well, I'm driving a car, so obviously I have a permit. No permit, no car." "No, sir. So sorry. You have a permit to own the car, and a licence to drive it." "So you are saying that I can drive my car if I have a licence, even if I own no car? Because that does not add up." "Ummm. There is a million dollars in small notes buried by the base of that lamp post. Want to get it?" "Hey, officer, do me a favour and dig it up and bring it to me." "Well, I'll do it if you show me your licence." "Are you throwing in some candy with that offer?" "Yes, you can have my candy." "Show it to me." "It's in my mouth, see? Ahhh..." "And you have to give me a pony ride on your back." "Consider it done." "And three wishes." "Sure." "The first wish is that you go away and never bother me any more."

That's how we deal with bad cops in my neck of the where I come from.

Rule 1: A guard is supposed to chain himself to the waterboard and give himself twenty lashes if he steals from a person he guards.
Rule 2: A second infraction and the guard must surrender his weapon and badge to himself, then shoot himself in the head.

Don't laugh. With the proper amount and quality of brainwashing this should work.
