Global warming doesn't refer to the weather in the sense of getting hotter. It refers to the ocean temps that effect the world. Show a reliable source. Your opinion is not professional. Not that I NEED to prove ANYTHING AT ALL TO YOU because you wouldn't care about the truth if it bit your a-ss. My dad is a geologist. He told me. Also if you watch the programs on tv about global warming they will tell you that it is the oceans warming that makes the changes they are talking about. It really is a no brainer. LOL Where have you been lately? I hope you enjoyed your self, him, whatever. LOL, him? Who is this him? Actually just life is happening. My car died on me and stuff like the kids needing me for help. You have been on a roll here lately...lol I see your new project is global warming/climate change. Good project. ![]() Global warming/climate change education. I thought it might actually help generate some intelligent conversation. ![]() ![]() ![]() Has it???? |

"shrug", I do understand...lol We have to understand that we/all life effects it's environment usually for the worse. All that takes is observation. Look at molds, fungus, bacteria, etc... We are no different. We effect our environment. We should work to stop the negative effects if we can. I really don't see the big fight with this one at all. ![]() |

You wouldn't think, and yet look at who is fighting to maintain the status quo.
They spread propaganda and lies. Trying to place doubt where there should be none. Creating skepticism all in the name of their bottom line. |

Uh, willing.....she's 100% correct. Haven't you noticed that over the last few years, they have stopped relying on the term Global Warming ( because they can't prove it's caused by man ) and instead they have gone to the term Climate Change?? So now, since they couldn't manage to prove that man is creating the problem, they are expecting us to put a stop to something that the Earth has been doing since the beginning of it existence. Kinda arrogant of them, methinks. |

Creating skepticism all in the name of their bottom line. Yep. Because the " Word According To Al Gore " is nothing more than a money grab. Those of us who choose to educate ourselves can see it very clearly. I, myself, have no " bottom line " involved with this discussion. What I DO have, however, is a distinct disdain for any group that tries to run a massive con game on the entire human population. |

It has always been the oceans warming and scientist figured people would understand that the oceans are a major contributor to the planets condition weatherwise and otherwise. I guess people misunderstood the terminology. We are effecting our environment, there is no way around it. All living things effect their environments. Cleaning up our act is not a bad thing at any level. We should be willing to do it, WE NEED THE PLANET TO LIVE!!! |

Cleaning up our act is not a bad thing at any level. We should be willing to do it, WE NEED THE PLANET TO LIVE!!! I have never, at any point, argued the fact that we needed to cut down on pollution. My only issue with the whole deal is that they are claiming that man is causing the change in climate when it's simply not true. Another thing I have a problem with is that a part of the proposed treaty from Copenhagen states that ( and I am paraphrasing ) industrialized countries MUST cut down their emissions by 95% by the year 2040 or 2050. There will be billions upon billions of dollars spent, only to find out that goal is completely and utterly unreachable. It would utterly destroy industry. Is it any wonder why China and India are basically telling the Copenhagen folks to go piss up a rope?? Another thing to keep in mind is that only two ( I believe ) of the countries who signed the Kyoto treaty actually managed to reach the goals for emissions set forth in that treaty. We definitely need to cut down on pollution as much as we reasonably can. But setting unrealistic " goals " is not the way to go about it. |

Man may not be the only contributor but he is having an effect. No living thing can live in an environment without causing changes. It is fact. Observable in life in general. |

No living thing can live in an environment without causing changes. It is fact. Observable in life in general. I completely agree. However, there is a BIG difference between the way you are looking at it ( sensibly ) and the way the GW folks spout off about it. THEY make the claim, loudly and repeatedly, that man's influence is THE cause of Global Warming. Just look at all the stuff Al Gore spouts. He blames the entire Global Warming/Climate Change deal on man's influence. In spite of the fact that we are involved in a naturally occurring cycle. The Earth is going to warm up and cool down. There is absolutely nothing that we, as humans, can do about it. Can we clean up our environment....sure. Can we cut down on our emissions and make our impact a bit lower...absolutely. But there is no way that we can STOP the changes in climate. That is what the Global Warming folks are proposing. |
