its the only place on the entire internet where I use my real information and don't lie and use my real name (which isnt quietman hahahaha)

because of that I only interact with people that I have actually known or met in my life

no internet buddies that may or may not be real

the Farmville stuff and the Mafia Wars bugs me

You can hide those on your home screen. That's what I do. Look at the post and then move your cursor over to the right of the post until the "hide" link appears. Click it and you won't get those from anyone on your list anymore.

papersmile does the aquarium one on there and she likes it. it makes me laugh cause we'll be talking on yahoo and she wont answer for a while and I can say "leave those fish alone" and she says "how did you know?"

FB isn't evil if you use it for it's intended purpose.

The way FB should work is if you've never met the person irl they aren't your friend. So it is none of their business about your life. (I know most will disagree, but really, if you have 500 people as your "friends", it's a numbers game for you and really step away from the computer and get real life friends). Everyone wants to be an attention whore and post every menial ongoings about their sad little lives because they think they are so self important. I don't care if your kid just took his first crap, really I don't. I don't want you to "send me a drink" request. I don't want to play 20 questions of what "Grease character are you?" (I'm Rizzo btw ) And for gawds sake, DO NOT POKE ME!

Also don't be shocked when people take the info you put out there and use it against you. YOU PUT IT OUT THERE!

You post pics of you getting drunk and playing girls gone wild, yeah, well don't be all shocked when your boss sees them. You post how many people you hooked up, well, don't be surprised when your STD tests are posted.

So go on and post whatever you want on any social network, but just know you are being watched and judged...good or bad.

My next lesson on THINGS THAT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS, will be "The Evils of Twitter and why does PDiddy post himself (using the bathroom) pics on it".

A friend of my Dad's passed away from cancer and emphasema a couple of years ago. His widow got everything, and ever since his ex-girlfriend's daughter has been harrassing her about how she stole everything, and that the guns were promised to her boys (who, BTW are little heathens even worse than she is), and all kinds of mean, untrue things about this widow. It has really been tough for this widow. The pseudo-step daughter has made it a point to get these facebook entries to this widow, whom my parents have been trying to help. The guy was Dad's best friend, and before he died he sold the guns to Dad, because he realized that this chick and her boys having guns would be a dangerous combination. But she's been using facebook to really badger and harrass this poor lady.
I personally won't get on facebook, because it seems like a waste of time to me. As does Twitter.
