Home On The Side
On the side of the road There's a broken down car, Filled, overflowing with dreams. To be home for the holidays, From traveling far, A ways like the old whistling wind. A hand written note, Left, scribbled and torn, Message left to be found. I'll be back as soon As I find help, Then Christmas and home, How's that sound? On the side of the road, Steps so deliberate. Walking so solemn and hopeful, Home for Christmas, Almost there, Shaking away tired, frustration. Heart full, the packages, Wrapped tied and waiting, Note scribbled thus stating, Without you I'm hating. Keep hoping and looking. I'll be there soon, And Christmas at home, Just, I love you. In through that door, Your waiting arms Where our love is given true On the side of the road, If that's where we are, Christmas and Home, just you. Raine Les 11/27/2008 |
