The only place I can find that letter is on blogs. 2 to be exact.

I say given time snopes or crooks and liars will prove it to be fake.
Like the many before, leading into the 2008 election.

This letter/email is obviously a fake!

He's the first commander-in-chief to carry a BlackBerry-like device — but that doesn’t mean he’s reachable. President Obama is staying mum on the identity of the privileged few who’ve been given his new e-mail address.

In an interview with NBC Sunday, the president said only a "handful" of people are able to contact him through the super-secure device.

Earlier: Obama's 'spy-proof smartphone'

"Look, there are security issues involved," Obama said. "And so we’ve gotta make sure that I’m not - creating a situation where - you know, potential people can compromise our [security].

Obama also suggested the list does not include any world leaders.

"Typically, world leaders are going to be contacting me through the Oval Office. They know how to reach me there," he said.

The exclusive list of those who have the president's e-mail address reportedly includes a small group of senior aides and cabinet officials. According to a report in the New York Times, security precautions make it impossible to forward an e-mail from the president, or to send the president attachments.

Watch: The secret side of Obama's BlackBerry

It's also likely Obama's e-mail address will change frequently to ensure it remains secure.

Speaking Saturday in front of the Alfalfa Club Dinner - an annual event attended by the country's political elite - Obama joked about the ultra-limited access to president’s inbox.

"It's a very exclusive list. How exclusive? Everyone look at the person sitting on your left. Now look at the person sitting on your right. None of you have my e-mail address."

Well, if there are some nay-sayers out there, I put an end to the rumor.
My mailman just picked up that letter and it will be delivered. I forwarded it via snail-mail.

Much like the willie lynch letter, it will be hard to prove or disprove the letter is legitimate but the sentiments no doubt should match those of many people so it is worth discussing.

I do believe there are those vets in full support of Obama just like there are those against him and this op is but one opinion.

Using the OP's link,

http://www.thepeoplesvoice.org/TPV3/Voices.php/2009/12/11/open-letter-from-a-concerned-vet-to-pres

I found it is a Blog-site. The article states,

The following open letter to President Obama is written in response to my column OBAMA IS A NATIONAL TRAGEDY / A SYMBOL OF OUR TRAGIC TIMES written on December 2, 2009. http://blogs.salon.com/0002255/2009/12/02.html

Allen, the Following is the text of my e-mail to President Obama:

Dear Mr. President:

Obviously it couldn't be an email to the President as I have shown.

Whether or not there are Vets out there who feel similarly. The letter is no more than Republican Propaganda.
Generated to mislead the populace by use of technique #2,

2. Glittering Generalities

The opposite of name-calling, this involves the use of highly valued concepts and beliefs which attract general approval and acclaim. These are vague, emotionally attractive words like ‘freedom‘, ‘honor‘ and ‘love‘.

This method works because these concepts/words mean different things to different people, while still having a positive implication.

When someone talks to us about democracy, we immediately think of our own definite ideas about democracy, the ideas we learned at home, at school, and in church.

Our first and natural reaction is to assume that the speaker is using the word in our sense, that he believes as we do on this important subject. This lowers our ’sales resistance’ and makes us far less suspicious..

Technique #3

3. Transfer

This is a technique used to carry over the authority and approval of something you respect and revere to something the propagandist would have you accept. One does this by projecting the qualities of an entity, person or symbol to another through visual or mental association.

This stimulates the recipient and makes him/her identify with recognized authorities.

In the Transfer device, symbols are constantly used. The cross represents the Christian Church. The flag represents the nation. Cartoons like Uncle Sam represent a consensus of public opinion. Those symbols stir emotions. At their very sight, with the speed of light, is aroused the whole complex of feelings we have with respect to church or nation.

and highly likely technique #4

4. Testimonial

The aim of testimonial is to leverage the experience, authority and respect of a person and use it to endorse a product or cause. Testimonials appeal to emotions instead of logic because they generally provide weak justifications for the product or a cause of action.

‘The Times said,’ ‘John L. Lewis said…,’ ‘Herbert Hoover said…’, ‘The President said…’, ‘My doctor said…,’ ‘Our minister said…’ Some of these Testimonials may merely give greater emphasis to a legitimate and accurate idea, a fair use of the device; others, however, may represent the sugar-coating of a distortion, a falsehood, a misunderstood notion, an anti-social suggestion…”

Don't fall for their illusions!

During the early days of the Bush Admin, maybe before, the Republican Party created and began a huge machine.
It's purpose was to to generate lies, propaganda, and mislead the American Public so that they could pass legislation and policy to benefit their ambitions of power in the American gov and society.

At first this machine was used to direct their personal economically beneficial invasion of Iraq by misleading the world and the American citizen through a careful campaign of manipulated data and outright lies. This was done against all the top-ranking US military leadership's recommendations. Those who protested most were simply replaced and their reputations attacked.

During the elections in 2004 the machine was turned against Kerry. Portraying him as something other than the war hero he was.
In 2008, the machine was turned on Obama in a variety of ways. From calling him a Muslim whose real goals were the destruction of America, to generating misinformation as to his citizenship, to ties with terrorist groups and controversial figures here at home.
All in an attempt to hang on to power.

This machine is still operating in desperation. It began trashing all Obama's attempts to govern and reverse the harm done to America by the Re publican's prior 8 years of effort.
This started from day one, trying to insinuate him as a failure because he couldn't get it done in one day. They blamed his Admin for the prior economic collapse and have resisted his every effort to correct the economy, close Gitmo, reform Health-care, reform the country's energy policies, improve our environmental policies, and correct the way wall street does business. Just to name a few!

The Republican Party is corrupt to the very core and their motivations are very UN-American. To me, a Veteran, they are our #1 domestic threat, and need to be dealt with.
I refuse to remain silent about my perception, or their tactics.
I will not be complacent while they continue to mislead the American public!
