If this is the only place they can vent their frustrations in life, so be it, it is a forum after all and sometimes it may help them get through a difficult time!!smokin

Sure this time of year we will see more threads that are negative. It is a very hard time of the year for many to deal with.

Maybe they need a way to rant or vent just get it off their chest. I don't have a problem with that. The way I see it if I choose to answer those threads I do. Just maybe by them being able to feel they have a place they can vent or ask questions is here.

What I feel is really sad is it makes me wonder where the compassion has gone? Why is it that some no longer feel they can take a moment out of their busy days just to give a suggestion or to give another that ray of hope to see that others actually take a moment out of their time to help them get over that bump in life's journey that has them weighed down to the point they are sinking.

Does it really take that much effort to give a suggestion or to help make another smile?whoa

Everyone has their own situations. They may be in therapy already. They may have a persistant or severe mental illness. They just might be having a hard time and have a mild situational depression. They could hate their job but because of the economy they can't switch. And the situations go on and on and on and on.

If someone doesn't like the content of the thread... don't post or read it. If one feels like there needs to be something more positive, post up something that it positive... start a positive only thread.

But like one of our lovey texans mentioned.... sometimes all someone needs is a little compassion.

Whats up with these people? Pity parties, negative 'I don't like and why should there be because it doesn't suit me' sort of things constantly? I really feel bad for them that their attitude is so bad about life. We've all got it rough but am getting to the point of simply suggesting 'honey...maybe you need therapy'.
We should have one of those signs instead of 'off topic' saying 'NO WHINING!!!!!!!. A vent or rant is one thing but every new topic they post???
Get a grip people! If your not part of the solution, your a part of the problem.

Here it is....if you really think it will work!laugh

I am completely with you on being compassionate with those who come here having a bad day, week. Yet..there are those who are re-inforced by these replies, so continue. Yes, they are what they are, we all are....to see the ones who continually are like that, I have voiced this because when given the advice they are seeking, or replies to their post- battle to just continue their negativity. They're not here to vent or look for support...it seems to be they've learned in life to function that way...or so it appears. There is where alot of my compassion goes for them, that their lives are that miserable that they come here with it, totally unawares.

I am so confused...laugh

A Thread to wine about others that wine.

If everyone spoke exactly the same, It would really be a dull world.

If we all lived in a perfect world.. There would only be Half as much to discuss.. so there goes half of the forums.
No.. wait, If it were a perfect world no one would be alone and there wouldn't be a need for singles sitesbigsmile

Myself, I don't post in many threads because of the topic.
is there a rule that says we have to reply to or even read every thread?

That's a good point.
After all, Shasta1, you cannot expect the whole world to siute your taste! If you don't like the thread, just skip it...

But i agree, some people have a lot of nerve to impose their negative views upon everybody else!!!

That's why there's an option for Reporting...

I agree especially with your later note about those who get reinforcement on their gripes, instead of solving them. It's too bad. There's always seemed to be a facet of social living that encourages mutual griping as a way to socialize, so that might be part of it...someone says "I hate nose-pickers", and fifteen more folks jump in and cheer (most of them while secretly cleaning snot off their keyboards), and they all gain a sense of community from the mutual fuss-fest.
And as someone said, this is the usual time for the ebb and flow of grumpiness for it to be on the rise.
I figure about all we can do with those posts, is take a quick stab at helping, then make fun of them, them come and create a new thread to complain about them. That's fun.

I was venting, and see alot of that here. There is a big difference. In all Actuality...it -was- for those who do it as maybe a thought might cross their minds...am I doing that? And perhaps if they followed the rest of the converstaion would do as little more introspection...thats all. Sometimes a hint is all a person needs. Sometimes more. One or two who get defensive...well- you catch it.
