must be in regards to happiness.

If I've noticed anything about people under 30 it is that most things are in regards to happiness... specifically their personal happiness.

I strive for the other person's happiness myself.

Y'know, I've wanted to talk to you for a couple weeks now. I always hope that my comment on a thread will lead you back and you'll just start talking to me. :/

Yes, you.

Oh.
Didn't even know.
What's up, then, miss? How's life? I have a mailbox too.

Haha, it's okay. I didn't make it very obvious.
Nothing much is up, just got done the dishes and back from work. You?

I haven't emailed you because I go to your profile but then chicken of because I never have anything witty to say, which is unusual for me.

So where about do you live in Michigan? My cousin and aunt live out there.

That's cute. I'm the less shy one. Hehe.
Southeast side, about 12 miles North of Metro Detroit.

Wit is not necessary to mail me. I'm pretty laid back about prerequisites.

I think they live a couple of hours from Detroit. That or Chicago. They live in Grand Rapids so you be the judge, haha.

Have you read your profile? It's intimidating. You either need wit or intelligence and since I know next to nothing about poetry except the poems I had written for my senior project, I was going to rely on my charming personality.

See how charming I am? bigsmile

Quite charming, doll.
They live a couple hours northwest of me if they're in Grand Rapids. I hear it's a nice city... never really hung out there, though.

I had no idea it was intimidating. Really?
Hehe. I never thought anyone would get intimidated by the poetic side of me. Then again... there's pretty much just one side to me...

So how'd the senior project go?

The senior project went well; I passed my senior year, haha.
My friends were a little mad at me because they thought mine was too easy to be considered a senior project. They're just jealous because they didn't come up with the idea.

I don't think they're in the ACTUAL Grand Rapids, I believe Downtown Grand Rapids is about 20 minutes or so away from them. I just can't remember what their town is called. And I was just there less than a month ago.

Oh! I know the part that was intimidating: "I'm looking for someone who can challenge or inspire me - not confrontationally, but conversationally."

Groovy.
My senior project was on AC/DC.
I managed to talk for 22 minutes about AC/DC... I still don't know how I quite pulled that one off. I'm not even a big fan.

We got extra credit if we brought in a food item related to the band. So some people were bringing in like... jello cut outs of their band's logo or cookies.

I took no chances since my teacher hated me. So just to be coy I saved some money up and got one of those cakes where they put your actual picture on it. So I talked for half the class and then we spent the rest of it eating a cake that was just a picture of me in an AC/DC shirt wearing my friend's AC/DC hat giving a thumbs up. Hehe.

Wow, haha. I was going to build a model of a daycare center but then realized it was more work than a scrapbook of poems.

I was so nervous delivering mine. I'm not much of a public speaker, especially when the fate of your graduation depended on it. And some of my poems weren't even that great. My one was, though. I had gone on an ASP trip with my church and on the ride home, I wrote a poem about my experience there. The elderly people seemed to enjoy it in church the next morning. They all remember me as the little girl who could be heard without a microphone in cherub choir.

So what do you do, occupationally?

*looks around nervously*
*clears throat*

Yeah... I'm looking for a job.
My last job I worked the electronics department and I used to deliver auto-parts for these... mean people... around metro Detroit.

I'm pretty sure I could go back to roofing... but I don't want to be up on those frozen *** roofs in the winter. It's just not worth it for what they're paying.

You?

I heard Michigans unemployment rate was pretty high. My aunt and cousin found that out the hard way, unfortunately.

I am a receptionist for an insurance agency and also a deli clerk at a local grocery store. I absolutely HATE working in the deli department. I hate mopping and cleaning the slicers. Luckily I only have to mop and clean slicers one night a week. :)

Did you go to college?

Roofer, huh? That's hot. ;) haha. Something about a guy in construcion boots who's not afraid to get his hands dirty....

I'm about two semesters away from an Associate's... but I definitely didn't focus enough on college. It was a community college... so it wasn't so much the difficulty... I just stopped caring at a certain point, I guess.

I used to work at Subway... for a week... drove me crazy. I'm not built for food prep. I give props to those who are.

Hehe... and actually I was wearing Michigan issue SWAT boots I got from an Army surplus store. I don't mind getting my hands dirty... just as long as it's not on a third story roof with steep incline and no guard board nailed at the bottom. Hehe. Then, I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little afraid.

You going to college?

What's your major?

I'm just like you when it comes to college. I just don't care, except I stopped caring in 9th grade. I went to a "real" college for a semester right after high school. That didn't work. Then I went to a community college for about 2 years and all that's gotten me is loans I have to pay back. I was going for business but I don't know why. I have no idea what I want to do with the rest of my life or what I would even want a degree in. Why get a degree in computers when you end up in construction? I'll just work for now and go to school later.

Michigan issue SWAT boots ... I think I just fell in love. <3 Just kidding, haha. But it's a definite turn on.

English.
With no intent on teaching... so I was never really sure what I was going to do with that degree when I got it but I was hellbent on having it when I started.

Yeah, tons of loans... And they keep sending me letters about it, too. I think it's cute of them... thinking I have money to pay back student loans. I still owe the library 10 bucks for a lost book fee (talked them down from an 87 dollar charge because they guy working the counter read the book).

My boots are wrecked now, but they rocked while they lasted. I learned how to skateboard in them. THAT was interesting. Now I'm rocking the skate shoes and need the boots.

Funny how time flips things.

So if money wasn't an issue what would you want to do?

Haha, that is very cute of them. I get those letters, too, but I have to see money back to them when they send me a letter. Not that I go bankrupt, it's usually around $80 or so. Still a pain in the butt. Then I have rent, verizon bill, peco electric bill, car loan, motorcycle loan, insurance on both and my renters insurance. Being an adult sucks, haha. Luckily my roommate and I split the cost of rent and utilities and her boyfriend is moving in so rent is going to be even cheaper!

Skater shoes, too?! Second weakness. I'm wearing black skater sneakers, even though I don't skate. I do own a pair of rollerblades, though. They're in the trunk of my car. What kind of car do you drive?

Hmm, that's a good question. I would like to own a bookstore. I love reading and I would love owning a shop in one of those small communities, like on Gilmore Girls. A town where everybody knows everybody and it's very community-oriented.

You?
