I think it's disrespectful regardless of the word used. I see that as a child thinking they can get around the no cussing thing by saying that

I beleive that child needs a whoopin!!

i also think its wrong and would not want my child at any age to say this but this kid was let off with it!! i think its wrong

parenting is a never ending learning process
if this child was allowed to get away with this, it only escalates... no child of mine would ever tell me to flip/fu(k off - well maybe once and never again |

you mean they didn't get in trouble for the disrespect??? My son is 18 and I ask him occasionally about the parent threads. Even he says there is no way he would get away with that.
IMO that is just showing the child that it's ok to disrespect the parent and they will keep doing it and it would send mixed messages if the parent decides to punish the child later on for doing it again |

Yep ... to "flip off", "to flip someone off" refers to the "middle finger" gesture meaning "f**k off". Just because the child used a non-derogatory word in the phrase, it means the same thing - disrespectful in either case. |

I respect my mom and step dad and dad i would never have done this ever. |
