Topic: You think you know someone... | |

It's funny, you think you know someone and then you find out you really never did... Sometimes it takes years.. Could it be that they change or that they let you think they were someone they really weren't?

Hmmm in the cases I'm thinking of that's definitely not it.. But I can see how it can be that way sometimes... I'm sure I can come up with another case or two where that is it...

Or could it be we never really knew them as we thought we did. Normally most people never open up completely to others.
Heck was married for 11 years and thought I really knew my ex as well but seems I did not know him as well as I thought I did. So at times no matter how long you have known someone you don't always know everything about them.... we are strange creatures.......even though we do eventually trust others there are still those secrets we keep to ourselves......... |

Maybe they are trying to be something, someone else and they just can't so the true colors come through..cause they just can't be not themselves anymore... |

I agree with you both... I've seen it... recently and in the past... It's sad really... Or maybe I am sad b/c I am me, can't help who I am and I don't pretend to be something else... I don't trick myself, I think some do that... Or they wants something/someone so they change things they are about/believed in to get the someone/something and well you know the rest...

the only person you will ever realy know is yourself
what you know about other people is just your persception of them. if your persception is wrong then its hardly their fault |
|
|

that's a thought lonetar but if they present themselves differently, it's entirely their fault...

that's a thought lonetar but if they present themselves differently, it's entirely their fault... Maybe it depends on their mood as well....I've been told even by my bosses that I present myself differently depending on the situation/environment |

well that's true Isaac, I can see that.. A lot of people laugh when I say I'm shy but normally I really am shy...
I'm talking more about beliefs and actions i.e. standing by your beliefs or maybe a temper perhaps... |

I'm talking more about beliefs and actions i.e. standing by your beliefs or maybe a temper perhaps... I personally believe EVERYONE has a temper....it's just the length of fuse that is different. Standing by your beliefs I guess again it depends on the person...some people truly avoid conflict so they don't seem like they are standing by their beliefs if they are under attack then they just walk away....but they still practice them and live by them...so are they standing by their beliefs then? |
